My heart goes out to the Wardle family for everything they've had to endure over the last 4 weeks. I go by the motto that what ever doesn't kill you makes you stronger. I hope you got strengh from the results. Thanks for 3 years and many more to come. I'm looking forward to many great seasons and will stand with you as long as you want. Thank you and your asst.'s for all the hard work.

First, I don't think Rob or any member of the media deserves to be attacked by any reader at his home in front of his family. There is no excuse for that. I do think Rob can be called out in the comment section of the paper, on twitter or on message boards and as long as it is not a threat of violence or harrassment it is okay. Readers should be allowed to express their views. In my view Rob's writing has taken a turn against UWGB hoops. I think Rob would be the first to admit that Wardle would not have been his selection as the coach. Over time the writing seems to reflect that. Writing about poor attendance/moving to the Kress, writing about how to defend a late game 3 after WSU beat GB, writing about Mays more than Brown, writing about the transfer rate and now burying the recruit info. When Coach K was here pantheru would call out Rob all the time for being in Coach K's pocket. Rob never mentioned what rule Jesse Childs broke. He never discussed all of the guys that came and went under Coach K. Each recruit usually received positive press when they signed. I don't recall him writing an article to ever question an in game decision. Even in his interview with John and Nick I could sense frustration at times. He seemed frustrated that those guys could get an interview with Alec and Kiefer but he couldn't. By his own admission this story is consuming his time, to the point that he made a comment about his own wife getting frustrated with him. The guy is the team beat writer and for the first time in a long time if not ever there is a story that can sell papers, get online clicks from around the country and in general make money for the paper and build his writing career. Maybe it is a case of he can't see the trees through the forrest because he is in too deep. Maybe it is the copy editor changing his articles in a way to get readers to keep coming back. Maybe it is something else. I normally don't get too hot headed on this board but I do feel that Rob and/or the GBPG have taken a negative bias towards the team and in particular this issue.
I did ask a PG reporter a few days ago about this incident. He was rather suprised he had not even heard about it. He said he used to sit next to Rob and if it happened he's suprised the PG didn't issue some kind of warning to all employees? Just wondering were this got started? He did say he doesn't do much reporting any more so maybe he's out of the loop.
When Rob called in to the radio show with John and Nick he indicated an old man pulled up to his house in front of his family and said some harsh things. Other than Rob saying it on the radio I am not sure if that was reported anywhere else.
