Added notes....When McCabe transferred to UNLV he was one of the portals the new coach brought in. The new UNLV coached replaced the then coach who was at UNLV for only two years. This coach departed to Iowa State in March of 2021.....so McCabe knows what it is like to come in with a new coach etc...Hopefully it doesn't take GB long to a hire a new BB coach. Reason being.... for instance GB hired Kayla (Tetschlag) Karius for the women's bb head coach April 23....she still hasn't been able to hire her new assistant coaches as those three positions had to be posted. Yesterday (May 13th) was the last day to apply... that is three weeks since her being hired.....hopefully GB hires the new men's bb coach asap because if it takes three plus weeks just to post assistant coaches positions the school surely does not want to delay the hiring of the new men's coach as it creates uncertainty for current players on the roster as well as the new players coming in.. ..Finally my last comment....awhile back a post indicated GB athletic programs was on probation....this was due to lack of funding in order to maintain D1 status....the reason the school was placed on this type of probation was due to the school dropping Tennis and not funding the Women's and Men's Nordic Ski programs...from what I have heard the AD department is now in full funding compliance. The NCAA will continue to review the school as they are on that sort of probation until 2031....the Chancellor is fully confident that necessary funding etc will be maintained.... Was the probation due to the funding issues a byproduct of the Charles Guthrie era? |

Bart Fraud Lundy was jealous of the hype/attention Sundance Wicks got from the media. Just think how jealous he will be now! Gottlieb can take the attention. Coach Lundy will take the W's. I mean, if Freddie Owens and the 3 win Phoenix can beat Lundy, I think Gottlieb and whoever’s on his squad can. |

You're falling for the hype. College basketball coaches have to do a lot of work. I honestly don't think Gottlieb has it in him. Y'all fell for the Sunny nonsense too so I guess I'm not surprised. Don’t loop me in with all the Sunny kool-aid drinkers. I said day one he was little more than a roided-out middle school football coach that seemed more bark than bite. Lot of bark with Gottlieb too, the bottom could be Will Ryan level, but the ceiling is greater than what Sunny offered. I can see that.... I just don't think it will happen. |

Interesting if they know about the postseason ban that’s looming. Not many fans are aware of this matter and it is shocking. Why else do you think the whole staff was leaving?? Cmon guys. They are fooling all of us Phoenix fans. I feel for the recruits who don’t even know this is coming. Sad sad stuff. Moon as great as he is, he really messed up. Maybe that’s why Gottlieb got the job this time around, he must be ready for the one year APR ban that Will got us into. Ughhhhh, this sucks. Can someone from GB confirm if this is true or not??? I thought the hire would be splashy and this has definitely soaked the pool deck!
The faster we get some clarity on the staff and roster the better. I think there is a chance to do minimal damage if he comes across the right way with those who are open minded to GB.
I'm transitioning from cautiously optimistic to optimistic.
