I could see any of those 5 schools getting Peters. Does GB have history in Peoria? MKE picked up Paris Gulley from the area.

Alec Peters is visiting GB today. I have to believe they are going to bank the final 2012 scholarship and give it to somebody in the 2013 class instead of Cole Stefan. Maybe his concussion problems are still lingering?

Alec Peters is visiting GB today. I have to believe they are going to bank the final 2012 scholarship and give it to somebody in the 2013 class instead of Cole Stefan. Maybe his concussion problems are still lingering? Very interesting to hear Peters still visiting. He would be a great get. Kind of surprised to hear they're pursuing him with Botz in the fold, but they know all the details of their plans that we're not privy to. A skilled 4 man like Peters would be a nice compliment to the ultra-athletic Greg Mays at center in a few years. As for Stefan, they said he could eventually earn a scholarship if he proves his health, but they never clarified how long that would be. Maybe he is from a family where scholarship isn't an important issue, like Christian Wolf of UWM. Stefan is definitely a man of mystery. We also never heard if they applied for a hardship waiver to allow him to play immediately. So many questions?? One of the teams listed in Peters top 5, Valpo, got a commitment from a different combo forward today, Jubril Adekoya.

Here's Mark Miller interesting subscribers story about Turner Botz's teammate Kenny Lowe: Strong play over spring and summer land Little Chute's Lowe on Division 1 recruiting radarHere's a teaser from the story: At this point, Lowe is in the early stages of receiving recruiting interest from several NCAA Division I schools, including Bucknell, Green Bay, Nebraska-Omaha and Western Illinois.“I would love to go play college basketball with Turner at Green Bay,” he said. “Division I is definitely my goal.”I have loved the upside of this player since I 1st seen him midway through his sophomore year. He was outstanding head to head versus Jordan Fouse in the State Tourney that year. He has grown to 6'7", has extremely long arms and a wide frame. However, he is also a very good ballhandler and is easily LC's best dribble penetrator. He's strong now, but with his frame I could see an absolute powerhouse PF after a couple years in a D1 weightroom.

What is missing is Mr. Venci's "sources", besides CW.
The comment that struck me was:
"There is a thought that the University of Wisconsin might be giving him a look now that Nebraska is interested".
Whose thought is that?
So Wisconsin monitors and reacts to other Conference Teams recruiting efforts and who they are getting involved in? In other words, they sit around and see a kid who is not on their primary or secondary list, get an offer from someone and then they get involved? Does Venci know who stupid that sounded?
I don't think CW's game has changed much over the summer, or over the last 2 years for that matter. If you want a really, really good shooter, he is your guy.

Besides Rob D, what do others think of the offer? There is a lot to like about Wichman. I am partial to good, pure shooters and gym rats, both of which describe him. If your team is balanced or complete enough, having a couple of excellent shooters can be a tremendous asset. However, in today's landscape you really need have a roster full of as many complete players as possible. IMO, after BW offered Wichman, he should have kept going down the hall and done the same to Brevin Pritzl. According to Mark Miller, Green Bay, along with Toledo and Milwaukee offered Pritzl this week. Pritzl has had a really good summer. He is an extremely confident shooter, has a high IQ and is a good athlete. I have heard whispers of a few high majors that are currently monitoring and will be interesting to see if and or how soon he gets an offer from one of them. My guess is it will be sooner than later.

Alec Peters has added offers from Boston College, Rice, and St Louis. He was down to his top 5, which included GB, but he's starting to get some bigger offers now

Does Green Bay have a shot at Lowe from Little Chute. I've read that GB has shown interest but not offered a scholarship yet. According to Mark Miller, New Mexico recently offered Lowe

Even with high major offers coming in, Green Bay is still in the running for Alec Peters Class of 2013 small forward Alec Peters of Washington High School and the Peoria Irish 17U is one of the biggest July stock risers in the state. He had a huge performance at the Adidas Tournament in Indianapolis to start off the month and his momentum has continued since then with more offers.
“I was really happy because that lets me know I played well in Indy. It was gratifying to get more offers especially my first high major from Boston College.”
Monday he added an offer from Southern Illinois to his growing collection. He spoke about some of the new schools getting in the mix.
“A lot of schools showing interest right now are Butler, Clemson, Oklahoma, Iowa State, and a lot of Big 12, Pac 12, and ACC schools. It is going real good right now. Hopefully by the end of the month we will have a nice list so we can sit down and plan visits.”
Any schools standing out right now?
“Definitely interested in Illinois State, Butler, Valparaiso, Green Bay, and Boston College.”
Peters knows what he is looking for in a program.
“Somewhere I can go and play right away and make an immediate impact. Somewhere I don’t want to be recruited over. A place with good academics, which it is hard to find a school that doesn’t have good academics. Some place I can fit in good and have a good relationship with the coaching staff.”
The small forward broke down his timeline for a decision.
“I would really like to make a decision before my high school season whether it is at the end of August or in November. I would like to sign early.” Link

Alec Peters has been named biggest stock riser in the Illinois Prep Bullseye summer awards. Seems everyone is impressed by both his shooting and toughness. Unfortuanately, the competition for him just got tougher, as he has now been offered a scholarship by Butler.
