I think they just like the name, honestly. Most of those schools would have him coming off the bench for 10-15 mpg at the most. Agreed. Kanter was "sneaky" good for GB last year playing against Horizon League athletes. I just don't see the upside to his game to be any more than a rotation big at schools like that.

I wish him luck. Xavier would be a good fit. They have had plenty of slow big guys do well for them. Purdue has had success with bigs. NC State, UConn, Pitt, BC and URI aren't in good enough position to give him exposure but I would guess he could get minutes at all of them. Baylor and Seton Hall don't play his game. K State on offense but maybe not on defense is a fit. I can't see him playing any big minutes for Kansas or Michigan State. Being real he only played about 15 or 20 good games for GB in 3 years, that doesn't scream go to the big boys.

Interest means nothing right now. Colleges are looking at the transfer list this time of year. Imagine an assistant is in charge of this list and calls players to judge their interest. Probably most have never seen the player play on tape yet. 6'10" players are hard to come by so if a college is looking for a big man as a backup, Kanter would be one to call and sure his last name does not hurt him either.
Xavier has 6'10", 6'9", & 6'8" all returning next year and they all were major players for Xavier this year. That is not even knowing what high school big men Xavier has signed for next year. Guessing they are looking for a 2nd backup. Kansas has a 7'0" (was hurt part of this year) and 6'10" returning and both were McDonald's All-Americans as high school seniors.

Wishing him well. I'm sure he realizes the gamble he's taking -- assured playing time versus a question mark. I'm not a Wardle fan after some of the weirdness that went down the the last years he was here but I think Bradley would be a good fit for Kanter. He has an established relationship and the strongest likelihood of playing time. Last I checked there's 370 plus transfers on the market right now. Kanter's brother is an established NBA level player. No wonder some pretty big school are sniffing around and asking questions. Again, nothing but the best are my hopes for Kerem. It has been fun watching him develop with the Nix.

Sounds official. Hope he finds a role for Xavier next year. Unfortunately for him, that role might be picking out splinters, if you know what I mean....

Good for him, that is a solid program and fits what I can accept. I think he will play but he is delusional if he thinks he is going to the NBA this year or next.

Former Xavier big man commit Brady Ernst decommitted yesterday. Perhaps he didn't like Xavier taking on Kanter. He would be a great guy for GB to land. He is like Lowe and Kanter combined into one big body with 3 years left to play. I don't know what level he believes he should go to but Xavier was by far his highest offer this year and in high school Iowa State was his best offer by far which he did accept before having a knee issue and not playing much. I think Herbst has Iowa JUCO ties, this is a guy I would love to see GB land.
Also, Brandon Suggs from Bethune Cookman is transferring. He is a 6'8" player from Rockford, IL. He played one year, would have to sit one and then play 3 more. He is getting interest from UMKC and UIC. His stats at BCU weren't huge but he looks like he has some upside.

This Kanter story is interesting to me for two reasons:
1. Why would Xaviergold a scholarship for a guy that may decide he's going in the draft (I know he won't, but it's still a bizarre thing)?
2. Kerem never thank GB or the coaching staff in his statement. Was he really unhappy? I thought they gave him plenty of chances, despite not fitting the scheme all that well.

When Brady Ernst committed to Xavier in January his offers at that time included Pittsburgh, Creighton, Minnesota, Seton Hall, & Georgia Tech. Sounds like he is way over our level. Wonder in time if Xavier will regret taking a one year player and losing a 3 year player?
