Chris Roth just said on WBAY that in addition to Horizon League schools, Francis won't be allowed to transfer to Bradley

I am kind of surprised that Bradley was blocked. That is a very much unlike UWGB, further proof that this is a new era with Linc and MEG.
I am excited that Pittman is willing to look at GB, he oozes stud in a system playing 94 feet end to end.

Any player that would defect from your team without at least meeting with Linc Darner is making a serious mistake.
It was said in his introductory press conference and is undeniable true: "Linc Darner changes lives!"
As for Sheldon Zablotny we'll know soon. He is supposed to sign LOI tomorrow - Saturday. (You guys have to leave us with something down here!)

Sheldon Zablotny did sign with FSC today. (One thing more or less to worry about.)

I read on twitter that Pittman's visit with Darner went well and that GB has a chance. I think what else is important is that Bradley had 5 recruits on campus this weekend and Pittman doesn't appear to be one of them if he was meeting with Darner. Bradley landed a commitment from a bigger and higher rated SG in Ronnie Suggs. Wardle likes to have lots of guys on campus at that same time and let them recruit each other. They form bonds and start the locker room chemistry early. Okafor was in town when Torres and Pittman committed. That was same weekend GB realized Church didn't fit with those guys and he ended up at Missouri State. If Bradley has a different sg already and didn't have Pittman in on big recruiting weekend that is good for GB's chances. Pittman was also offered by SIUE and Nevada, both of which have new coaching staffs. His other offers were Chicago State and Tenn State which are both kind of down the hierarchy for college hoops.

The second best answer you can get is a clear no. Pittman had the courtesy to meet with Darner before making a decision. When you consider the new coach was starting from scratch -- an instant relationship wasn't likely. This opens up an opportunity for a current Nix player or recruit. It's just the reality of a coaching change.

Hopefully we will get some roster updates (good and bad) by the end of the week. I know we are a 1/3 of the way through the spring signing period but if we are dealing with 3 losses of players (Francis, Pittman, and probably Torres) and the other open scholarship we had before the coaching change, time's a wasting.......and this is before any other unforeseen transfers or if Okafor wants to be released from his LOI.

Just read on twitter all of the recruits have been released from their signings and are free to go to another school. This is not good, especially with Francis leaving. I am looking at this being a transition year.

While this is disappointing it should not be unexpected. Most coaches recruit for themselves not the school that employs them at the time. I did find it interesting that a point guard Darner recruited this spring for Florida Southern kept with the verbal commitment he made to Darner and the coach's old school. It speaks well for Darner and the recruit. About 24 hours ago I saw the Bullseye Brothers out of Chicago listed GB recruiting an Air Force Academy transfer point guard. Any coach has to hedge his bets during a transition. Perhaps bringing in an assistant coach with strong JUCO or prep connections might help fill the roster vacancies? Does anyone know when Darner can officially hire assistants? The transition will give current roster members a unique chance to show what they can do. It might also prompt some quality walk-ons who see a chance at a scholarship. There's an interview up on the Nix web site with the new coach. It's worth watching. As a former television news direction the technical quality made me want to coach the interviewer, on where and when to look at the camera. He also needed to tell Coach to just look at him not off camera. That wasn't Darner's fault it was the interviewer and the guy behind the camera responsibility. It's the difference between looking professional or amateur. That's all part of marketing the program. www.greenbayphoenix.com/SportSelect.dbml?SPID=13663&SPSID=110001

At this point we are waiting for the next shoe to drop in terms of roster changes. I would be happy if this team is .500 next season, but hopefully we wont see a single-digit win total, but with signs of improvement as the season ends.

Joel Okafor just signed with Bradley. That moved pretty quick.

This just means more clarity for Darner.
