Here's one NIT Bracketology prediction. It has GB as a #4 seed hosting #5 St. Mary's......and a potential second round matchup with Miami again. Honestly I can see Illinois being the #1 seed in that region. www.nycbuckets.com/2015/03/nit-bracketology-march-9/ Here is another potential NIT bracket that has GB as a #6 seed playing at #3 Minnesota (in The Barn; I could make that game)....... www.bracketmatrix.com/PDFS/NIT150311.pdf I'm still digesting what happened last night when GB was up by 8 points in the middle of the second half to losing by 10 (although 'holding' Valpo to 54 points) when it was all over.

Thanks for sharing. Interesting that they have Minnesota with a 3 seed despite their RPI of 95, Green Bay's RPI is 59. I'd be fine if they just flipped those 2 teams and had Green Bay host Minnesota. I think that would get people interested. The game I really want though? Green Bay hosting RPI #88 Michigan.

The fact that the phoenix ended up being a 4 seed in the NIT makes it seem unlikely that they would host a first round game. With the new rules they would have been a 1 seed being one of the first four out. They should make it with their RPI but I don't think RPI is the biggest factor that committee is looking at for seeding.

New rules this year and even the "experts" won't know until Sunday. They look at where they can make the most money imho. Sunday is when we will all find out.

If you are listed as one of the First Four out by the committee, it guarantees you a number one seed in the NIT this year. I believe GB was one of those teams last year.

They should make it with their RPI but I don't think RPI is the biggest factor that committee is looking at for seeding. The top 4 seeds in each region host. If seeding went strait RPI, GB would be a 2 or 3. They'll make GB a 4 to try to prevent them from hosting multiple games.

I don't think it is fair to say they didn't want to play in the NIT last year. Yes it was a let down but without Sykes against a team with a very methodical style it certainly didn't look good. I think these guys want to make up for losing a lead last night. A nice NIT run may make them feel better.

I didn't see any of the guys with any sense of excitement whatsoever. The things I remember most about that game were Alec walking off the court in tears in front of a crowd of maybe a little over a thousand or two and Vince Garrett barely talking to anyone after his token minute of game time, not any plays anyone made. As I've said before, there's simply no dignity in going out like that when this season could have been so much more.

Alec had re-injured his shoulder the game before, and it seemed to really affect him.

Who gives a rip about Vince Garrett? He could pout all he wants but he wasn't that good. He didn't play at Rutgers because he wasn't good. He was highly recruited out of Juco and played hard but he wasn't a good player and he had a hard time adjusting to that at two different D1 programs. If Vince would have stopped charging and traveling with his head down maybe he could have kept playing. He didn't understand what it meant to be a star in his role.
As for the game I remember them getting down early as Belmont shot the lights out. I also remember them making a big run to cut a double digit lead down to nearly a tie in the first half. They ran out of gas and weren't able to over come Brown and Sykes being down or out but they certainly didn't roll over 100%. They lost to a very well organized team, one that played a style they didn't see all year. They lost to a team with better coaching. They lost and it sucked but it certainly wasn't a game where they didn't care or try.
To be honest Knight it frustrates me that you post non stop after losses and remember only negative things about past games. After they beat Oakland in a must have game with impressive style it was about Josh not playing. We didn't get any comments after wiping out UIC on Saturday. Now when they are down it is back to the same tired song and dance. I don't mind that you have your opinion, but I do mind that can't see anything but that.

I am a fan of the team, what can I say? I'm certainly going to be critical when I see something that is wrong in my eyes, just like anyone else. The team has definitely had its high points in the last few seasons and I am certainly grateful for those times. However, there are certain things that need to be addressed which I am not afraid to comment on. I don't always post after wins because it is redundant to merely repeat what everyone else says. If I really didn't see any positive in this team why would I even bother commenting at all, let alone visit this site on a daily basis? This team CAN be extremely special, I just don't want to see it go to waste.

Usually the NIT Selection Committee may give charity to one mid-major team with a higher seed. I would think that would go to an Old Dominion or a Murray State, and those teams would get a #3 seed at best. The first four teams out of the NCAA's would get guaranteed #1 seeds, but I would see some preference for the 'next four out' getting #2 seeds. I would be shocked if GB got a #3 see somewhere, but in the infinite wisdom of the NIT Selection Committee, they always favor Big 5 Conference teams. When you watch a mid-major play an 8th or 9th place Big 5 Conference team, the host has a half-empty arena since there would be fan apathy or in many cases, spring break is going on......I'm going beyond GB's situation right now, but watching a Robert Morris team host UK a couple years ago (when Rupp Arena hosted NCAA games and caused a schedule conflict), that atmosphere was unreal.....and BTW, RMU won that game. I'm not saying that GB fans will come out in droves for an NIT game, but from a general mid-major conference standpoint, I would like to see those teams that were regular season champs and have a higher RPI get more appropriate seeding, have the opportunity to host multiple games, and have better game atmospheres than seeing a Murray State or an Iona play at a more than-half-empty arena at Alabama or at Seton Hall.

Personally I hope now they don't get an nit bid and then decline the other tourney bids. I don't think I can bare watching this team lose one more time this season. If they do play I hope keifer makes the decision not to dress as well as mays and mckinnie so they can start all the younger guys. Making an nit run with three seniors means nothing anyway cause they won't be here. Need to look toward next year. Maybe botz can start and prove he isn't a total bust to give us something to look forward to next year. I was really excited for findley after last year same with Lowe but somehow both regressed. Let's hope Francis doesn't do the same. Right now I don't see better than fourth in conference next year unless Valpo cleveland st and oakland lose a bunch of guys due to transfers. They are clearly going to be a step above us next year just like the top four in conference were clearly above the bottom this year.
