Personally I hope now they don't get an nit bid and then decline the other tourney bids. I don't think I can bare watching this team lose one more time this season. If they do play I hope keifer makes the decision not to dress as well as mays and mckinnie so they can start all the younger guys. Making an nit run with three seniors means nothing anyway cause they won't be here. Need to look toward next year. Maybe botz can start and prove he isn't a total bust to give us something to look forward to next year. I was really excited for findley after last year same with Lowe but somehow both regressed. Let's hope Francis doesn't do the same. Right now I don't see better than fourth in conference next year unless Valpo cleveland st and oakland lose a bunch of guys due to transfers. They are clearly going to be a step above us next year just like the top four in conference were clearly above the bottom this year. I am not sure how you can say you hope they don't get in NIT bid? I am extremely disappointed in how they lost and feel the season was not a success as we missed the NCAA tourney again, but still want them to play in the NIT. At this point it is the most prestigious tourney we can get into.

I wish they would get rid of the nit and make the ncaa tournament 96 teams. The bottom 32 would have to play play in games. The point of conference tournaments would be to avoid the play in round for the smaller conferences where a regular season title would award you an auto bid. Won't happen that way but I think its the fairest way to protect your top teams and still make the money a conference tournament brings.
To me any tourney but ncaa is like a preseason game it seems like it doesn't count. Last year an nit was cool but now after being in it once I don't really have any interest in what they do in it. Seeing as how they can't shoot they will lose in their first or second game anyway and it will just remind all of us of why they failed this year. If they do play in it I hope they limit the minutes of the seniors even if it means losing the game so the people that will actually be here next year get the tourney experience they need

One site has Green Bay as a 3 seed and Toledo as a 6. The only way I will waste my money on an nit game is if that happens or they play someone like michigan from a big conference. I highly doubt it will happen though gb more likely to get a 4-6 seed and a likely first round exit

I don't mind the NIT. Sure it isn't the big dance but in the process of building a program I think it is helpful. I don't accept that GB should be loading up and then reloading for a run every 3 to 5 years for the big dance. I think they should be working towards the point that they are in the dance every year. Shouldn't that be the goal? In my opinion it is way more helpful to have two straight NIT bids in the back pocket than it is to not have them.
Wardle just completed his first full 4 year cycle of recruiting, and 5th year overall. When GB hires a new coach for hoops I think we would all agree that after 4 or 5 years they should be at the top of the league with their own guys. If they aren't they should be gone. For Coach Wardle at the end of his first cycle he has a league championship, a runner up finish and two wins over the ACC and one win over the in state Big East team. That is just off of the guys he recruited and developed in his first cycle.
Now start to put some NIT wins together and the recruiting improves even more. As the talent pool rises up so to do the wins and then hopefully the league titles and NCAA bids. It is a process to build a program. As long as some million dollar plus year a job doesn't come to Wardle I hope that GB can invest enough money in him and this program to keep the building going.
As for the game itself I think it is disrespectful to Sykes, Mays and McKinnie to suggest they shouldn't play. They are going to have to live with that loss at Valpo for the rest of their lives or at least for as long as basketball is important in their lives. I think they should have every chance to try and win an NIT tournament. We already know what we have in the deep bench guys, letting them get run over in the NIT isn't going to do anything.
As for those that don't like Wardle letting him try and get some NIT wins is also a good way to help a better team lure him away. What looks better to DePaul or Bradley...Brian Wardle who didn't win in the big HL games or Brian Wardle who recruited his own guys and won some NIT games out of the HL??

If Wardle had any balls he would bench the seniors. They don't deserve another chance. This year was their second chance after choking last year to uwm. Their next chance should be in the pros or they will just have to live with it. In life if you fail you don't always get another chance. Don't worry Wardle wont do it though. It would send a message to love and fouse for next year though. That is interesting, before it was all Wardle's fault that they lost and now it is the seniors fault. Pick a side and don't be irrational. Also, it would send a message that Brian Wardle doesn't care about anyone after they are done. I am sure all current players and future recruits would be like "yeah that it totally cool with me." If Wardle wants to keep building this program which is what I care about then he plays the best guys he has access to. It is so simple that I am not even sure why this would be debated.

NIT Selection Show 7:30 PM CST ESPNU
Green Bay's up to 55th in RPI, and had wins versus top 50 and top 100 teams. That should lead to a quality seed and 1st round home game.

Hey guys, I'm probably gonna camp outside of Buffalo Wild Wings so I can hopefully get a spot to watch the NIT selection show if you wanna join, everyone's gonna be there because there is so much hype about this consolation tournament this year! Can't wait to find out if we are gonna get killed by St. Mary's, Illinois or whomever! Should be a hoot! Why do you think anyone here wants to hear your opinion? Your not that bright or interesting, we're all laughing at you. Keep it up. We get it, you're angry at life, and want to bring us all into your misery. Sorry pal but you'll have to suffer alone.

If they do get an NIT home game I really need it to be Tuesday at 8pm. Anything else and I am most likely watching this one online.

I would prefer an nit game at the kress Especially a week night game The Kress is to far away for me to bring the kids on a school night, and the Resch is better in every way. No Kress please.

If they really want to pack the resuch or at least have any decent crowd they need to make all tickets five bucks. That might be the only way I would attend one of these games and it would be a good "thank you" for sticking with Us even though we let you down the past two years.
If the resuch won't allow that have the game at the kress then.

Ur real hurt by them not making the tourney Who wouldn't be hurt? The NIT, as a consolation tournament, doesn't do a very good job at consoling when teams like this had such lofty goals.
