I will be curious to see what MU does with their scholarships. This gives them 4 guys locked and two more with verbals but they only have 5 available.
Also, if Fischer would have ended up at uwm I might have cried. Based on the development of their other bigs there is nothing to indicate they could mold his talent. Kelm is good but not a great all around player after 3.5 years and Panoske barely plays anymore and he is 2.5 years in. Remember the uwm fans talking about Panoske vs Brown comparison? Panoske is behind Mays in development let alone Brown.
I only know what I read online. Are there any viable bigman options for GB to recruit other than Iduwe in 2014? Also, is Travon Bunch a real option for anyone, he is a ghost online with limited at best current information available.

Fischer becomes Marquette's 1st recruit in a year who hasn't been suspended. Good for them. Yeah, I don't think this is correct

Yeah, I don't think this is correct Unfortunately, Marquette recruits Malek Harris, Sandy Cohen, and Nick Noskowiak have all served suspensions this year. Malek's is year long. At the end of last season, Cohen was really starting to show some maturity, and his game took off. However, that emotional control has really regressed this year. That disappoints me, because when he has his mind right he is something special to watch.

I'm not saying there aren't possibly some issues, but you failed to mention the 4 recruits they have signed in the last year that haven't gotten suspended (at least to my knowledge). Shayok, Pierce, Hill, and Flory aren't guilty by association.

It has been quiet on the recruiting front lately. Some news out of Neenah, Adam Pohlman has decided to give up his soccer scholarship to UWM and pursue basketball. I know GB does not need another guard for 2014, but perhaps they could work out a 5 for 4 deal. He and Heldt coming in together might look good. Wardle has certainly recruited teammates before.

FSB: What is your opinion of Pohlman playing at the Horizon league level? I have not seen him enough myself to make a judgement. My understanding is that he is very hardnosed, quick and is a great passer. I do not know about his outside shooting. He was #19 in the Wisconsin Basketball Yearbook and had some Division 2 offers. Neenah is having a very good year and his stock may be rising.

Back in June, GB offered him a preferred walk-on spot: I don't get the impression that a lot has changed with his recruitment. I do get the impression that a lot has changed with his desires to play hoops. I think GB has to be beyond the point of recruiting one teammate to try and get another in the future. I would help they can land Heldt because of their success and player development.

Best of luck to Pohlman. I'm glad he is being mature with his decision making. It takes a lot to turn down a scholarship playing a sport. Hopefully he can catch on somewhere.

Sent from my SCH-R970 using proboards He is neither turning down a scholarship nor hoping to catch on somewhere. He's simply turning down UW-Milwaukee Soccer. He has scholarship offers in basketball. He'll get more.

www.verbalcommits.com/players/carson-shanksThe link I attached is for a 7'0" center from Minnesota named Carson Shanks. He was a freshman this year at Utah State. He was going to redshirt this year but left at the semester break to be closer to home. Two things about that. First, I wonder if he would have any interest in being the next 7 footer from Minnesota to be featured on the Phoenix? Second, I see he was a guest of the Golden Gophers on Saturday. So if he ends up U of Minnesota that might take them out of the running for Fred Iduwe which would be good for GB. Just closing this up. Shanks ended up at U of North Dakota. I read that he was denied entrance at Minnesota as a nonscholarship athlete. His aau coach and teammate are at UND.

6'10" Jack George of Mt Carmel was in today for a visit. There doesn't seem to be a lot of recruiting information available about Jack George. Based on what I could find online he is tall, skinny, averages 15/6/1 and scores his points in the paint. Does he have an offer? Does he have other offers? Is he a late bloomer? I like that the staff is working on getting a big guy, is he the only option at this point?
