6'10" Jack George of Mt Carmel was in today for a visit. There doesn't seem to be a lot of recruiting information available about Jack George. Based on what I could find online he is tall, skinny, averages 15/6/1 and scores his points in the paint. Does he have an offer? Does he have other offers? Is he a late bloomer? I like that the staff is working on getting a big guy, is he the only option at this point? He's actually averaging a very solid 17/11/3. I'll have more info later today. I don't know if there's an offer, but there's significant interest from both ends. Chris Cornelius is the lead recruiter here, and he's outstanding as both a scout and salesman.

Green Bay has extended a scholarship offer to F David Skara of Midwest Elite Prep Academy. MEP is in northwest Indiana. Skara is a highly skilled 6'8" forward originally from Croatia. He is an instinctive player who can shoot, handle the ball, and pass.
MEP hosted St. John's Northwest Military academy last night. They won a match-up against St. John's earlier in the season. St. John's has several Phoenix targets.

Based on size and being described as a shooter is Skara Mike Schachtner 2.0? With interest in two bigger guys right now are they still looking for 1 player or does it seem like they are looking for 2 guys? They only have one scholarship as of now. I would think 2 would help ease the transition because McKinnie and Mays will both be seniors. If only one, then I think GB needs size and should go towards George or someone similar.

My guess is they are still looking at 2. No particular reason but with all the transfers in D1 it seems 1-2 unexpected openings a year. I read a article some where that 30% of 1st year players transfer. Some just want to play more and others realize they can only be a star or starter in D2.

Brad Winton @jucorecruiting has reported that Arroyo Edwards 6-5/G/2014 has narrowed is list to five schools: Green Bay, WKU, UTSA, North Dakota and IPFW Given his size and 3pt shooting of 35% I like him as an option for next year. Based on the other teams and him being from WI I would think GB is in the lead if they want him. Not sure where he fits with with Francis and Small coming in. If one or two of Botz, Fulton or Humphrey leave them I can understand more. I think they still need one or two bigs yet before another guard based on what they have now.

With the rule emphasis on no hand checks teams with athletic players who can drive to the hoop have an advantage. You will be seeing a lot of three and even four guard line-ups, from teams. Edwards and a true big would be the perfect additions.

It would be nice we do need another big for next year. If he would grow 2 more inches it would be great lol.

One word, "Creighton." Their center, Wragge, is 6-7 and cause problems because he is such a good shooter out to three. GB will have Mays and McKinnie who can stretch the floor. The team will also have quick guards. Next season looks good right now.

The calling cards for this GB team has been defense and rebounding, especially offensive rebounding. In Big East play Creighton is last in blocks, steals and offensive rebounds. I like their team but GB needs rim protectors and put backs to play their style. I want Wardle to get guys who fit what GB does not what other good teams do. I see Skara as a guy that would fit the Coach K mold.

I have seen reports that George is even 6'11. I also found an article that somewhat shed light on his recruitment. Must be a late bloomer given info is rare. www.highschoolcubenews.com/news_article/show/349397?referrer_id=672671
