I recently reviewed UW Stout's 2019-2020 basketball schedule. On their schedule the game against UWGB is listed as an exhibition game. If that is the case this game will not count as a regular season game for GB. Couple weeks ago I wrote about the lack of news coming from the GB Athletic Department. Interesting I first heard about the game between NIU vs GB on this site....not from the AD Department. Amazing that other games GB men will be playing you find out by reading the Phear the Phoenix. I truly appreciate the all the new news by reading this site. Additionally, why is it that the Horizon League Conference Basketball Schedule has not been released as of yet? It's not like the conference has to figure out who plays who like the Big Ten or PAC 12 does etc... Is it because of ESPN hasn't told the conference a game or two will be on the ESPN network??? The delay holds true for the Women's basketball schedule as well. If the delay is due to ESPN wonder why the Conference doesn't push for at least one or two Horizon League Women's basketball games to be played on one of the ESPN networks (ESPNU, etc). It's not like the Conference doesn't have a one or two worthy women's basketball teams. Guess the GB women having the 2nd longest consecutive winning seasons doesn't mean a thing... Once again it looks as though Marquette rather play an out of state teams with a much lower RPIs than the GB men. Does anyone know the reasoning why Marquette doesn't play the GB men? Is it because they follow the Wisconsin model....not play GB each and every year?? 1. It may be an exhibition for Stout but with the game being November 9th, it will count for the Phoenix. 2. The Horizon League has a few schools like GB that does not own the building they play in. Putting together a conference schedule is more complicated. It will probably be done by mid August 3. I wouldn't expect GB to comment on games like Northern Illinois because neither team has formally announced their schedule yet. Games get leaked and as a fan I try to find those links and provide them to others. The opener vs Purdue was reported by the Press Gazette and the Purdue schedule announcement- that one would make for a nice Facebook/Twitter announcement. 4. The big schools have their own reasoning for scheduling- Marquette has to deal with scheduling conflicts at Fiserv. It would be nice to play Marquette a couple times a decade but it is wishful thinking to play them any more than that. The loss to GB at the Resch in 13/14 didnt help things. The Big East just added UConn and will go to a 20 game model- meaning two less NC games for them going forward too (along with Wisconsin)

I have no clue how good McNeese, Colgate or CSUN will be but I think it is fair to say it is refreshing to get 2 home games against them. I don't love the dates on a Monday and Tuesday but that is the week of Thanksgiving so maybe some people will show up in the stands for these games.

Think we get a return game from Montana State and Eastern Illinois? NIU will be making a return trip to the Resch next year due to the 4 year agreement.
So Montana State, Eastern Illinois and NIU at the resch along with the Summit league challenge in 2020-2021? Not bad at all.
Curious to see who the remaining 2 games are for the non conference season. In the article put out by Green Bay they had mentioned Evansville as our best home non conference game. So fingers crossed we get a couple d1’s in there. Set up a home and home with Omaha or a Dikota school?
Pumped they put this schedule out so early. Ready to make some noise this year!

Confirmed, I re-read the article on Green Bay’s page and Montana State and Eastern Illinois will be coming to Green Bay next year. So we already know 5 games next year. Montana State, Eastern Illinois, Northern Illinois and 2 summit league teams. (One home, one away)

That is 4 D1 home games out of 5 non conference home games for 2020-21. If they play a non D1 game next year then there might be no hope for the future of ever playing a 31 game D1 schedule.

UCF isn't a bad game to get for a buy game. UCF should be a good test while at the same time being a game that GB should be competitive in. When Coach Darner first arrived in GB there was a Mocs fan who contributed regularly to the board. It could be a nice homecoming for Darner and his family and friends in the greater Orlando area.
As 97 wrote, please be a D1 game for the last game.
