UWGB was lower (worse) than #144 on this list? Or are the 'Nix yet to come... or did I miss something?
If they are worse than #144 I think I'd make book that they aren't. They should be yet to come. Gotta be. Must be...
It would be nice if UWGB & Valpo were both in the top 50. Time to start building an argument for a second bid.

More than likely Green Bay is lower than #144. It's more than likely Milwaukee, Oakland and Valpo in the top #144. The rest of the HL, seemingly will have to fight for respectability.

An absolute joke that the "fighting Rob Jeters" are in the top 144. Hell, they are gonna struggle to stay out of academic trouble, let alone worry about basketball. Nothing would make me happier than to see Tiby recoil in tears after we sweep them and end his career.

Harvard (#103), Vermont (#111), Princeton (#119), and Lehigh (#138)? UWGB nowhere to be found? Yikes!
(Harvard has been stocking up on ringers. They're actually pretty good.)
UWM (#136)? Pfft!

I appreciate the enthusiasm, but a little reality is needed. This team will be lucky to win 10 D1 games, they'll have an RPI in the 200s. Linc wins by overwhelming the opponent with 3s. He has no 3 point shooting. That can be developed over time, but not this fast. Linc recruited numerous raw athletes, so it looks like he's taking the long view to building his team. Wins and losses aren't super important this year. Year 2 they'll become more important.

This is a transition year for GB. I would be thrilled with 7-8 horizon league wins. I think they will obviously win the cupcake non D1 games and hopefully can beat their fare share of lower end D1 teams out of league. RPI will probably be no better than 175. Talk is cheap though and lets see what they can do on the court. Outside of McWhorters, UWM returns everyone else and I think they are worthy of that ranking.

My bet is you will see that southern Florida area game each of the next three year or four years.

With the Brown brothers hopefully they can get two games with schools like UCF, USF or even Miami and get a return game out of it in the future. Plenty of teams to get a thursday-saturday trip out of it.

I think 10 D1 wins would be a failure this year. ETSU and SIUE are both starting over with new coaches. EIU and Toledo look to be retooling this year. UIC, NKU, WSU and YSU don't scare me either. Plus there are 2 or 3 other games yet to be announced which may be winnable.
While I agree Linc's success came with lots of shooting it also had required pressure defense. On the shooting side Small, Botz, Love, Cooper, and Kanter might be shooters. Fouse improving and the Brown's are wildcards from deep. However, the entire roster save Kanter and Botz is made for pressure defense. So with one part of the Linc system looking solid from day one I would expect something in the 15 win range at a minimum.
I will say I don't give them a pass on scheduling this year. Most schools schedule basketball one year at a time, unlike football. So being hired in April and building out a staff shouldn't be that big of a negative on the scheduling.

I think McWhorter was the most important player on uwm's roster last year. They have plenty of guards but until we know that they have a solid PG I am not sure how good they will be. Yes they get Arians back but he needs a solid play maker to get him the ball. I also think other than Tiby they don't have another big guy to rely on.

There's a lot more to Linc's game than "overwhelming the opponent with 3s". 3s are part of it, but far from the whole thing. Very far.
You have the shooters. My question is if the team conditioning can be ramped up fast enough to support Linc's game. My answer would be maybe.
My fervent hope is that you all are pleasantly surprised with the upcoming season.
==========
On the flip side, we too have a new coach here at FSC. The program was left in a bit better shape than UWGB's and a bunch of talented players are coming on board this year. I fully expect FSC to be competitive for a conference championship and/or tourney championship and D2 regional tourney appearance. I do think the SSC is going to be very competitive this year. Lots of good teams. I'm glad the games against Embry-Riddle do not count in the conference results. (Probationary team. Last year NAIA D2 final four. (35-2))
Linc took over a program in some disarray when he came to FSC and had a lot of work to do. That first season was his worst season as a head coach (8-20/3-13). The second year after Linc had cleared house FSC was 24-9/12-4 and first in the conference. That was his third worst season at FSC. Your first season with Linc should not be that bad. Your second year probably won't be that good.
