Still think it is gonna be a fun tourney to watch.
I rally think u can split conferences into more levels than in past.
U got the high power 5 with the bcs schools.
Then u got the tweeners. A10, AAC, big east even, they aren't the power conference they used to be and don't have bcs schools anymore. Mount west,
Then u got the mid majors and low mid majors.
It'll be fun cheering those tweener conferences over the high majors in the early rounds even though there isn't as many true mid majors pulling at large bids as in years past.

No horizon teams in cbi
Cit field bids include
Wright state at east Carolina Valpo at Columbia Cleveland state at Ohio
One interesting school to note is first year transitional school who is not eligible for NCAA tourney Grand Canyon coached by Dan marjle. They have former uwgb recruit ryan marjle, transfer from toledo. First division one basketball school to have a CEO and be traded on the stock market. I've read somewhere that PAC 12 schools were trying to band together and not schedule this school. Lots of good reads on how this school just recently picked up basketball.
They get a home game against pacific. Grand Canyon finished third in the WAC but wasn't eligible for conference tourney.

Didn't take care of business.
Wasn't meant to be.
Use the experience as motivation.

I'm a little upset about NC State making the tournament over Green Bay, but honestly when I sit back and take an outside perspective, regardless of NC State getting in I don't think the 'Nix deserved to get in either. Besides the obvious losses to Milwaukee at home and the Valpo loss, think of the other schedule factors:
Playing D-II or D-III teams isn't something to get excited about. If you're a small-time mid-major, then fine, play those schools. But when you're an up-and-coming mid-major like Green Bay who can play with the big dogs like Wisconsin/Virginia, do yourself some favors and stop wasting your time with schools like Northern Michigan (even if it was a last-minute addition due to the cancelled tournament), Minnesota-Duluth, and St. Francis!!! Scheduling is tough at the mid-major level, especially when you want to play at home and I get that. But even bringing in a DePaul, Eastern Illinios, Western/Central Michigan, etc. that's closer to home and at the D-I level looks a hell of a lot better than a win against a D-II or D-III team.
It's tough to see the season take this turn, but at the same time it sure beats where we were a few years ago with no tournament hopes ever in sight. Wardle has done a great job bringing in some great talent, and the future of the program is very bright. Hopefully when next year's schedule gets looked at, Wardle and crew stop this annoying trend of bringing in terrible D-II/D-III teams that do nothing for our tournament hopes and leave the Resch practically empty.

Is there any kind of scientific process in the NIT seeding? It looks like the NIT Selection committee puts some thought in who is a #1 seed. After that, they use a dartboard in the seeding assignments, unless there is some smoky back room deal done by the BCS conference schools invited.....I see a bunch of stodgy old men smoking cigars and drinking crappy brandy while making these 'decisions'.....
If there is no consideration with one's RPI, then what's used?.....
I see Toledo is in, but as a #6 seed. I'm not crying for TK mind you, but they should have gotten a home game as well.

I agree, but don't forget that Coach Wardle had 2 more D1 games scheduled, but that tournament cancelled at the last minute. That resulted in an extra D2 game. One of the teams the Phoenix were scheduled to play in that event, Texas Southern, is in the Big Dance. The coaches worked all summer to add another D1 game, the goal was to just play 1 D2. In the end, the only financially solvent move was to play 2-D2 games. It definately wasn't their 1st choice. If the season ticket list grows, then the possibility grows of the team being able to buy a D1 guarantee game instead of D2. That's a ways off. The unbalanced deals with Wisconsin, Virginia, and Marquette cause the need for these games.
