Committee Chair Ron Wellman stated numerous times recently that injuries are a huge factor. Clearly, based on seeding, he lied. BYU a 10? They didn't deserve that healthy.
The committee has built a boring tournament with all the 6th place high majors in the field.

If not Marquette in the NIT, then hosting Indiana would be fun.
Also, after being one of first 4 out of NCAA tournament, you'd assume Green Bay would be a number 1 seed in another NCAA sponsored event, however I'll predict they're a 2 or 3 seed. That doesn't bother me though, just want to be at home 1st 2 rounds.

Byu was an inside job. Their conference commish and Utah state ad were on the ten man committee. As much as they like to say there is no impact but its hard to believe that. Comparing Jerry palm and actual seeds biggest jumps up were gonzaga and byu both from the west coast conference. With byu second best player out there is no way they are worthy of that seeding. C'mon avoiding the play in game. Two athletic directors from acc and nc state squeezes in, I was worried about these situations before the selection when I looked at who was on the committee this last Thursday.
I remember a year New Mexico getting an at large bid with something in the seventies when they had a situation like this. I guess when placing a team in benefits ur schools its tough not to lean that way. If any athletic directors from the horizon league been on the selection committee they would have pulled for Green Bay.
Smu, southern miss, green bay all deserve bids over those schools, five guys on the committee made a joke of the process. Byu and nc state don't deserve to be in.

Not a surprise since we have 3 RPI 150+ losses (Valpo, and UWM 2x), and losing in the conference semis at home did not help our cause.
I'm surprised that BYU got a #10 seed with the injuries they had. I agree with Shooting the J's take. They didn't deserve that high of a seed with their full compliment of players. And NC State?? Really?? They had a nice run in the ACC tourney, but they needed to get to the final IMO.....Also the A10 got a little TOO much love from the committee. SIX teams??
I hope we get a #2 or #3 seed in the NIT.....

Wow selection committee says we're one of the last four out and were a four seed in the nit. Really
I disagree that we were out for sure. If u take injuries into consideration. Valproate we were missing a top player and against Milwaukee missing a top player. They claim they take that into consideration.

Wow selection committee says we're one of the last four out and were a four seed in the nit. Really I guess the NIT lacks credibility.

All six a-10 teams were legit to get in. Dayton was the only one even close to having to worry. They had a hell of a year i wouldn't take anything away from those teams.
If U get nbc sports net its a fun conference to watch for the top half.

Green Bay get 4 seed with an RPI of 58 in the St Johns region. St Johns gets a 1 seed with an RPI of 67. 2 seed Illinois was RPI #70, 3 seed Clemson was RPI # 77. Not much credibility in the NIT selection process.
Green Bay hosts a very, very solid Belmont team on Tuesday.
What might make this game more interesting is that Belmont is trying to get into the Horizon League for soccer. The Horizon League would rather add them for all sports.

I think BYU had a very good RPI all year ... In the 20s or 30s.
Again, please stop talking about Valpo. I saw them twice in person late in the year and they were a 500 team with two huge stiffs down low. We didn't lose to them because brown was out, we lost because the other 9 guys played awful. Brown didn't play much against UW (made a difference on d but 5 TOs 5 fouls and zero PTA in about 15 mins) but we managed to play them tough.
The committee could have made a statement for mid majors but they chose not to.
Also competive NIT this year. MU. Indiana Maryland didn't make it

Teams with two stiff down low are the teams brown would eat up. Allowed the to stick the defense on Keifer.
It's all about matchups.
No way u can say u knew what would happen. Fact is one of the top players were out and we lost. U can't deny that.

Byu loses to Pepperdine, Lmu, Portland, pacific, all non top 100 teams at full strength and don't have their second best player cleared for the tournament.
Nc state 5-5 over last ten games. Compare all acc teams to Jerry palms predictions. Not one was under seeded same with west coast. Both conference had multiple represented from their conference on the committee. Hard not to pull for ur own conference. It's a flaw in having people who are actively involved with the schools.

I read that the higher seed will always have the option for a home game should they have a clear venue, so we host on Tuesday. But in looking at the NIT bracket, the winner of the 4/5 match-up takes on the winner of the 1/8 match-up. So, for us to host a 2nd round game we'd need the 8 seed to upset a #1, if I'm reading and understanding everything right.

Well GB had a lot of things break their way but in the end it wasn't enough. I hate seeing BYU that high and NC State in at all. Those were tough to take when I saw them pop up. I wonder how many times a #1 seed has lost in the regular season to a team that didn't make the dance?
