So here is the test. I would say this is the second time this year GB is going to be coming off of an emotional victory. The first time was after Virginia, they played a good defense at EMU on the road and lost. Now they are going back on the road to Wright State, how do they handle this test?
Wright State is playing a lot better since league play started, at least record wise. They usually play good defense although I have read on their fan board that they think the team has been slow to adapt to the new rules and maybe not as good defensively as they were in the past. Add in that GB only has one win in the Nutter Center that I can think of. So another big test and the kind that the Phoenix need to win to keep their march to March rolling.

Although this is a potential trap game for GB, I like our chances in Dayton......WSU has played their 3 conference games versus the bottom 3 teams (UDM, Valpo, and UIC). GB has played their 3 conference games versus the top 2 (at the time), in UWM and CSU; throw in a game versus YSU (who's in the middle of the pack) that has historicaly given GB fits in the TK/Wardle era, and I like how we stack up against WSU.
Having a healthy Al McKinnie will help us even more so, since I still worry about this game at the Nutter Center. Win this one, and we pretty much play the bottom of the conference until the next WSU game at home on 2/1.

Green Bay is going to have to play there best game yet this year if it wants another win. WSU is giving away 5,000 T-shirts to fill the Nutter Center. They've talked about it being their game of the year. They talk about taking Alec out of his game by frustrating him by double and triple teaming him every time he get's the ball. I don't think they really know what to do with Keifer, they only talk about keeping the ball out of his hands. maybe a zone defense for most of the game. I know in the past games with WSU looked like a footballl match with bodyblocks. I'm guessing with the new rules this will be harder for them to play the way they have in the past. They also talked about only losing to GB once at home in the last 9-10 years? So this could be a Statement Game for UWGB.
On that note I don't expect a let down like EMU. They were a unknown with little time to prepare for, WSU in a known commodity and we should have a lot of film. I do expect a close game but if we play our game we should be ok. We'll need our A game because the Nutter will be as hostile as Milwaukee. I think we have a good chance to start our home series with our win streak intact if we get by WSU. Go and make us proud I know you can do it.
My only negative about our team is we're in 9th place on FT% in the HL. We do need to improve this so we don't lose a close game from missed FT's. We need to get over 70% and would love to see 72-75%. If this is a low scoring game FT's will be very important.

Does anyone know if this game will be on the Horizon League Network as well or just ESPN U? If it's not, I'll have to track down a bar that will put it on for me.

Gonna be an interesting game. If we keep playing our game, none of this slow start BS, we should be fine. Keifer just has to keep it up. Even if they try and bother Alec, he just needs to avoid a total meltdown like against Madison. G will have to have a good game, and some more good bench minutes out of Kenny Lowe. Hoping to see Tevin get some meaningful minutes again this game. And as every game, hoping Zo McKinnie is back.

Tweeted by Scott Venci McKinnie ruled out for both of the weekend games. Thankfully Lowe is playing great. More athletic and mature than I thought he would be as a Freshman.

Green Bay (13-3, 3-0) @ Wright State (11-8, 3-1) When: 6:00, Friday Where: Nutter Center, Dayton, Ohio TV: ESPNU
Game day! Awesome to be on the U. Need revenge for last years double OT loss at home. Officiating will be key, they need to continue to enforce the rules emphasis. Hopefully no Steve Skiles or Peter Juzenas.
Hopefully GB can run some, and use their size advantage to dominate the glass. I see another win here, making it 9 straight.

If they can limit the turnovers then the Phoenix could pull away. So far a bad combo of forced and unforced that WSU has turned into points.
Great half from Alec. WSU is trying to take away Sykes but can't take away both at the same time.
Vince struggled, he needs to get under control.

Good first half. I'll take a lead at intermission any day. But need to limit those turnovers.
Great half by Alec. Efficient.

Tremendous win by GB 79-69 on the road.
WSU has a really good team and will win many HL games this year. They just couldn't cover AB and KS at the same time. As the announcers said they used a triangle and 2 defense and just about everything else. It worked at times but GB adjusted to everything thrown at them. Lots of pressure on the ball and some easy points off of our TO's. A very hard fought win for GB. Great adjustments by the Coaching Staff and Players.

Big win! Sykes was big in the second half.
I am sure that the late Mays dunk will be complained about on the wsu board.

Great road win. Great to stay composed after an emotional win Sunday. No slow start was good. Turnovers were bad.
I agree that G's dunk wasn't necessary. but oh well.

Incredible road win. Big crowd, tough WSU defense, and some uncharacteristic turnovers but they overcame it all to end the Raiders home winning streak and finally get a win of their own in Dayton.
GREAT to have some cushion in the HL standings. Need to win Sunday at UIC or this win will basically be cancelled out.
Agreed that the Mays dunk was unnecessary and won't be looked at kindly around the league
