Here's Rob Demovsky's story and game preview: Phoenix get back to games that matterIn Rob's story, you'll learn which Phoenix player has been playing with injury for a month. He's played well over that stretch until the Drake game. If there was no bracketbuster, this Milwaukee game could have been played on a Saturday, where it belongs. A share of the conference title is still in play, the Nix need a win tonight, and Detroit to lose 1 of there last 2. A loss by WSU in 1 of their final 2 would also be greatly beneficial for seeding purposes. Has there ever been less anticipation for a Milwaukee matchup? Shows how far they've fallen under PMPMCK.

The Milwaukee message board is dead. The posters that are left want Jeter fired. With his time at Platteville and Milwaukee he would have a nice safetynet pension. No disrespect it has been a tough season. The Nix will be playing a team with nothing to lose and that is dangerous.

Hoping for a big crowd. Lots of prospective recruits are expected to be in house tonight. Many of them are also being pursued by UWM. It should be a great night to show Green Bay's massive superiority over their lowly program.

Alec Brown Kiefer Syke were impressive. A nice win despite lacking energy at times. Now it's time to give Valpo a game.

Heldt, Moesch, Pritzl and a UWM recruit in the house. Anyone else?

Totally agree. i usually bring 12 guys from Milwaukee to the GB/UWM game. Usually, we rent a suite and stay overnight. We could not do it this year because of the weekday game. Poor planning by GB. I would imagine they could have requested that the Horizon schedule this rivalry for a weekend game.

Now that GB is all alone in 3rd place (since WSU lost to UIC tonight), if they upset Valpo on Saturday, and Detroit is upset by UIC, how would the tiebreakers work with GB/UDM on who is #2 and #3 in the HL tourney??

There is no possible way to pass Detroit. We both would have split with Valpo but we got swept by the 4th place team in Wright St, while Detroit split with them.

What was nice about Mays is he made two 15-18' jumpers, were he'd struggled from this range in the past. If he can keep hitting jumpers like last night he'll be a real offensive weapon.

That WSU loss in 2OT a couple weeks back looms large......and now even more annoying.

The Phoenix spent most of the night playing with their food, but buckled down and cleaned their plate late.
Good to see Greg Mays play well. There is little doubt how much better off the Nix are that JJ Panoske decommited opening a spot for Mays. GBPhoenix1 described Panoske earlier in the year as a spaz. That is dead on. Panoske, despite blocking a few shots, is just a dreadful defender. Alec Brown never got easier looks than he did in this one, and Brown capitolized. Panoske is extremely soft with no basketball IQ.
Sad thing for Milwaukee is that they have 5 seniors. Gulley is a shooter that needs to be accounted for at all times. Mete Harris has awesome raw ability and is becoming pretty effective. Without them next year their half-court will be non-existent.
