Another vague Dougie Phoenix signal on Twitter. I’d post the link but it’s the exact same as all of its predecessors.

What, it has been ten days since the introductory noozer with Gottlieb stepping to the podium? Since then four current roster members have confirmed they are staying. One recruit from the past regime (Basich) confirmed he's sticking with GB. DG and Company have two signed recruits in Santoro and James, a third is apparently in the fold and two assistant coaches are on the job. All this in under two weeks. This fan is impressed. I'm expecting Gottlieb, Sanders and McCabe to show up at my door with pizza any minute. ;-)

Ryan Wade is still in the transfer portal.
And David Douglas. I would like to see uwgb keep one. So is Jacob Antshak. But I don’t see him coming back. He doesn’t fit uwgb system 250 lbs. He was suppose to be athletic and mobile but when he played never played that way.

Clarence Cummings is still available. He would fit the fast pace style.

Probably nothing, but David Douglas still has his Twitter pic as him in a GB jersey and his bio still says GB basketball. That, coupled with a lack of word on interest in him at least gives me hope he might return. To be honest, he’s really the only portal guy I hope comes back, use the rest of the scholarships on big men and wings (CC3 is fine, but the team can easily upgrade).

I like his game. He might even flourish more in Doug’s 5-out motion system. I also wouldn’t mind CC3 back as well but we need another true PG, and some more stretch 4’s or 5’s that will fit this new system. We have 6 more spots to fill so maybe if DD and/or CC3 comes back……and if Doug doesn’t find any more players before they make any decisions if they come back to GB.

Coach Gottlieb put the signal out for the 6th scholarship I would think you will fill the rest by September when school starts? 5 scholarships?

Miranda Warning issued to Horizon League basketball schools: "Miranda’s potential is nearly limitless. He is a long 7-1 with a 39-inch vertical and has good lateral quickness and the ability to shoot the 3." Conditioning, injuries and personal problems have sidetracked his path so far. "Isaiah is an elite addition to our roster," Oklahoma State coach Mike Boynton said. "We are ecstatic with what he can bring to our team. He has a unique combination of size, length, skill and athleticism, as well as a great work ethic and desire to improve." Miranda was a consensus four-star recruit in 2022. Rivals ranked him as the nation's No. 30 overall prospect and On3 had him at No. 40. Coming out of high school, he held reported offers from UCLA, UConn, Texas, USC, Oregon, Louisville and Georgetown before deciding on NC State out of prep school in southern California. pistolsfiringblog.com/isaiah-miranda-no-longer-with-oklahoma-state-basketball/

Not saying for absolute certainty that any of these guys will work out, but to say Doug can’t recruit high level guys is just wrong.

I'm not going to predict that Miranda will dominate the HL. However, it is undeniable that he has some significant ability if he and the coaches can work together to harness it.
I like his potential for the program. He needs an opportunity to get himself back on track. GB needs players with high potential to win and prove that DG was the right choice.
This could be a mutually beneficial partnership. I'm excited to see Miranda come to GB!
