This team continues to be a bigger joke each game. I mean I know we are crunched for money but how do you watch this and keep this clown at coach? I am right there with you, but we have to be realistic. There is no way Green Bay can afford to pay three head basketball coaches. Can someone explain to me when we are off the hook for Coach Darner? Isn’t it less if he has a job in the last year of the payout? If I had to guess Coach Ryan has next year and then he is gone. You don’t let your rival come up to Green Bay and beat your ass. He is 0-5 against UWM, hasn’t won a non-conference game and the fan base is dwindling away just like it did with Linc. I was at the game tonight and it was just sad of what it’s become. Using athletics is a key component on how the administration wants to keep building up the brand of University of Green Bay. When you have a basketball team that is currently this poor it hinders that philosophy. At the end of the day, the powers at be WILL have to make a choice on which route they want to go. Keep the guy who MAY win 2-3 games this year or bite the bullet and start fresh.

This team continues to be a bigger joke each game. I mean I know we are crunched for money but how do you watch this and keep this clown at coach? If what I heard at the game last night is true they will be even further crunched for money. Sounds like Prevea is no longer underwriting the cost of all of UWGB's athletic trainers. If that's true, and that would be a strange thing to make up a story about, that is a pretty sizable chunk of change to come up with that they don't have. As for the game, no sense pounding away at the horse carcass except to point out that UWM had less turnovers than UWGB.

Does anyone know the status of Devin Zeigler? Sorry - I did find on the Interweb that he sustained an injury in practice and was unable to play. Speaking of injury - it looked like Braydon Dailey hurt his arm on one of the last plays of the game. He got knocked over, the gingerly held his left arm tight to his body through end of game and handshakes.

Whatever happens it is important to remember that most of us as fans have no clue what will really happen. Some people on here may have some access to info but for the rest of us it is just speculation.
My speculation is that GB came up with over $720,000 to have Coach Darner leave. I wouldn't rule out them finding $525,000 to have Coach Ryan leave if things don't improve from here.
I believe that if a coach has any amount of success like Wardle did or like Tod did they will leave. After Coach Darner made the tournament his name was mentioned as someone that interviewed for other jobs as well.
My experience as a fan with no inside info on the topic is that university will make moves or the coach will make moves but that nobody is going to be here for that long. That is part of why I support the coaches and will continue to support Coach Ryan for however long he is here. The duration of their tenure is out of my hands and information about the future plans from either side is nothing more than speculation at my level.
Separately losing the full support of Prevea would be less than ideal.

At the end of the day the players have to execute and make shots. They played better offensively as far as scoring but just being more consistent is where improvement is needed. I like the addition of Randy tucker in the starting lineup he made the most of his opportunity and the offense flowed a little better. Jack rose getting extended minutes is ideal since this is the perfect time for him to develop with how the season is going. Clarence also didn’t have too well of a game shooting the ball but he’s a good playmaker and can get to the rim. This is also Garren Davis’s third straight game of missing everything he shoots he is 0-14 from the floor and 0-9 from 3 in 3 straight games. His decision making and taking better quality shots needs to get better. Also Not sure why Donovan short doesn’t get more minutes as he is the tallest Phoenix on the roster.

I realize I am not there everyday so this is just arm chair quarterback talk. After seven games I would say that DZ, Zae, Randy, CC, Brock and Cade have had more than one game each that leads me to believe they have the ability to contribute. The team has had some moments from Davis but he is currently in an 0-14 shooting slump so it is unclear which way he will go from here.
On the young player side GB has a need to develop and figure out what they have in D Short, Rose and Dailey.
I know I am going into panic mode here but at 0-7 it is hard to blame me or anyone else for doing so. Perhaps playing the six guys that have done it in game action this year along with a few minutes of the young guys is a better strategy. The team plays at a slow pace so guys should be in good enough shape to handle a shortened rotation with a few players playing most of the minutes.
Otherwise I am not sure what lever they can pull to get better besides playing the long game and working on incremental improvement from everyone each week.

I think that what you posted GBPhoenix1 is what causes me to feel the most frustration. We seem to keep playing the same guys, running the same scheme and then we're surprised when we seem to keep seeing the same result? I don't see how any of us could ever say that oh, "Joe XXX shouldn't be on the court because they're not at this D-1 level" or whatever. Most posters on here had Braydon Dailey in their projected starting lineups, but he basically does not play..at all. Not privy to what goes on in practice, but honestly there's no one on the bench that I wouldn't like to see on the court in an effort to get some kind of spark. Zane Short is built like a brick shithouse, could that role be additive in some situations? Maybe as fans we are just over-estimating the talent level of our team?
I'm assuming the school got a heck of a deal to rent the Resch for a Monday morning game.

At least my wallet likes the outcome. Another embarrassing performance. How long is Will really going to be allowed to remain at his post? The point spread algorithms must weigh the Wisconsin game heavily. Badgers have done well since we played them, and other than the game against them, we haven't even come close to covering. It has to catch up eventually I would think. We should be favored Monday though, haha!!

Don't look now but Randy Tucker is currently 2nd on the team from deep. He is shooting 7/22 for 31.8%. He looks pretty confident right now, hopefully he is a guy that builds on his shooting momentum. I thought Davis passed on some shots earlier this year. Now he is taking shots that he passed on previously. However, the level of defense he is facing is much better than at his JUCO stop. I don't want to totally write him off, there aren't many driveway jumpers in D1 and he may need a little more time to get himself organized. I do appreciate his rebounding though. I also appreciate that he has been able to get some fast breaks going, converting some easy hoops would help so much.

Randy Tucker passed up a wide open 3 last night to pass to Nate which then caused a shot clock violation. No doubt there is still confidence issues.

Davis does other things well but I just would rather not have him trying to shoot every possession when he gets into the game which is why I believe he only played 11 minutes last night. Probably would have been less if CC wasn’t in foul trouble in the first half. Will ryan himself said that he doesn’t like the team taking a lot of bone head threes and would rather play inside out.
