I'm most disappointed in Brian. You're funnier than this bruh. I wasn’t trying to be funny, “bruh.” Just welcoming you back to college basketball. It’s pretty noticeable when a program’s loudest fan (online and in person!) is MIA for 5+ years. Good to have the UW-M fans back chirping again though. You guys were pretty quiet while GB was dominating the series for the better part of the last decade. Looking forward to seeing you guys crash back down to earth in the very near future.

Not sure how to reply to this. If you think UWM sucks you are in for a RUDE awakening on Thursday. Just putting this here so I can say I told you so. And Will Ryan is not worthy of a division one job at this point, he got the job because of the family name and no less and we all know it. Separate the “I’s” from the “You’s.” I have always maintained that Will Ryan was woefully unqualified and unprepared and was strictly a nepotism/nostalgia-type hire. I have maintained this team is absolutely awful. Others on here? It’s a mixed-bag. I also maintain that the Panthers are awful, too, and you can book your spring vacations early. You’re not going to be watching the black and gold in any sort of tournament other than a Chuck E Cheese Mid-Major Extravaganza. I can’t wait to see what the line is so I can at least make some money off of this mockery of a basketball contest. UWM is awful? Woof. Then Green Bay is in hell compared to us. We are going to see who really sucks over the course of this year, won’t we? If I were you, I’d bet the house on UWM covering the spread as well ☺️

Not sure why the UWM fans are pimping what's left of the UWGB fanbase. All the masochists who are left know the program is in a shambles. If UWM wins a blowout on Thursday, have they really accomplished anything?

The best I can tell about half of the people on this board no longer live in the greater Green Bay area. Many seem to live in places that attending the games is not realistic. Most of those people still seem to stream the games and comment here. The rest of the people on the board do report that they are going to games even if they are disgusted by it. The person I seem to tangle with the most on this board has indicated they don’t always live in the area, they hate the coaching situation and yet they still go to some home and away games. That commands more respect in my opinion than helping to burn down a program right by their house and then no longer showing up on a regular basis. I am not implying that any GB fan is lesser than myself. I am implying there are plenty of Panthers fans running their mouth right now that haven’t been there through the darkest days. That doesn’t seem to be the situation in GB right now.
But alas that isn’t what this thread is about. PantherU showed up to deliver some energy to the game. Anyone that was around 10 to 20 years ago knows this was must see tv. Through a series to missteps by both schools and the league we are now reduced to thinking of the memories from games gone by and hoping that maybe this gets back to where it was. I do find it interesting that PantherU can deliver his jabs and that is good natured in his opinion. However, anyone that responds is being pissy. I think it is important to remember that you came here, nobody asked you to. So take the jabs of fair weather fan, from a team with no fans and no long term hope with the same grain of salt that your original post was in.
As for the hoops question. The number of UWM turnovers isn’t what tells the story. It is the style of the game that will matter. In a high possession game UWM could still win with 25 plus turnovers. The best I can tell the turnovers are collateral damage of the system that Lundy seems like he can live with. Lundy may be the only coach in the country that would still play Browning in the game after some of the turnovers he had on Monday. If the game is played at a slower pace then 18 turnovers for UWM might be enough to undo them. I have watched enough UWM games to know that sometimes they are going to get a rebound and just throw it to the wrong team. They are going to dribble off of their foot or run people over. It is what it is and I don’t think they will clean it up. In many games they probably don’t have to. GB needs to keep the pace down, do their best to box out Rand on the offensive glass (fortunately being a team with bad help defense gives them a chance to do this lol) and minimize the number of live ball turnovers that they commit if they want to win the game. Of course St Thomas showed it would be helpful to have someone hit some 3’s.
On another note, I see the satin jacket joke is back. I go to an unhealthy number of GB home games and I can say I haven’t seen one of those in years. Some jokes like to live in the past. I suppose from a user with the name spiritofbruce I should expect nothing less than living in the past. After all this is the 18th season that he has not been your head coach…

It is your sense of humor that is in question. I understand why, it seems you didn't like that your visit here made you the joke. It is apparent that some of our visitors from the Panthers board have thin skin. They want to dish out the trash, of which their program has plenty of over the years, however they aren't prepared to receive a little back in the name of making a good rivalry.

I poked around at some sites that show a smattering of offshore book early odds - early numbers show us getting 6 points. I would have guessed it to be at least twice that -- home court must automatically get you like 15 points these days.

You guys are talking WILD for a program that is 0-6 on the year and just got wrecked by a school that was D2 last year.. If you’re saying we suck, you clearly need to look at your own school first. Imagine being 0-6 and talking smack about your rivals “sucking” at a 5-3 record.. couldn’t be me. See you Thursday at the Resch Lets get a few things straight here. 1. We are the first people to say our team is absolute dogshit. You are not telling us anything new here. 2. Lets just make us 2-6 then if you are 5-3. Unless you want a big congratulations for wins over MSOE and Cardinal Stritch. Those are some big ones so would not blame you if you want credit for them. 3. The point still stands that you got the #4 recruit in the country last year and were irrelevant in the Horizon league. Could be the most embarrassing performance in the league ever based on preseason hype

Is this PantherU guy serious? In all seriousness, I know you guys are glum so I wanted to play the villain to get you excited for the game. Unfortunately I started a new job so I'll be working Thursdays and will have to settle for organizing a watch party in Milwaukee for the game, so make sure you're loud and proud and let's put some jumper cables on this rivalry. Either you guys didn't read all the way to the end or I re-signed my lease to live rent free in your heads with how pissy y'all got. I'm most disappointed in Brian. You're funnier than this bruh. If you are going to come in here and talk shit then it is fair to expect it back. Not sure anyone is getting pissy. This is a rivalry and last time I checked people talk shit in rivalry games. Nothing wrong with you giving it or us giving it back.

Going to my first game since March 2020 (Oakland conference tourney game before covid). Last year I meant to get to one specifically the uwm game but an illness prevented it.
I am not expecting a win. I just hope it’s not a double digit loss.
I do have plans to attend 4-5 games this year which is what I did pre-covid. I just know I’ll need more beer than normal to do it.

There are a couple of old farts wearing the satin jackets that I saw still in 2020 but only about a handful.
Maybe they no longer attend games due to health?
This is a tough time for me because this program was a joke when I was high school, in college got better but underachieved, and when I got my first real world job became respected for about five years before slowly getting worse again.
I really hope we see those 2013-2016 days again soon cause those were a lot of fun. I just don’t see Ryan taking us there unfortunately.

Heck, I'm old enough to remember when Dick Lien fainted not once but TWICE at his introductory press conference.

I have slight memories of watching games at the BCS but unfortunately don’t really remember the two tourney runs. I remember getting George Karl’s autograph in my Phoenix program which I used to get every game I went to. I had a Shaq Lakers jersey on. He told me next time wear a Bucks jersey. He was there to scout Wally S from Miami Ohio. I also remember them losing big to Butler in the conference final game at home. We also went when UIC hosted a few times and went to the triple ot loss to Butler in the semis where the final score was like 54-49. I’d kill for even a sniff of that now. Losing sucks. Losing big is brutal.
