As we are less than 24 hrs from the start of the tournament and our game vs Queens, I am wondering what everyone's expectations are for this weekend.
I am just hoping for two more games of competing for 40 minutes and hopefully snagging our 1st victory. It hard to judge Queens so far this year although they did beat Marshall. My guess would be Morgan st loses to Utah Valley. Hopefully we beat Queens but if we do lose I think Morgan St is a very winnable game.

When I saw this game on the schedule, I figured it was some school out of New York, haha, but they are from Charlotte NC - first year in Division 1. They are being coached by an assistant right now, as their head coach is sitting out a 5-game suspension for DWI. They committed 24 turnovers in their last game - a loss to La Salle. Queens grabbed 43 rebounds in that game, but that appears to be more a function of La Salle getting up a whopping 68 shot attempts. I honestly don't know anything about Queens - I wouldn't imagine they are higher caliber than what we would see in the Horizon League, so yeah, I don't think expecting us to have a good shot to win is unreasonable here. I want to feel the game at Wisconsin was us upping our game more than it was how bad the Badgers kind of stunk up the joint. Let's hope the former.
I hope there are some working options to be able to pull in the game on a desktop PC, since I'll be sitting at work. I don't know what "HBCU GO" is exactly - or if that's a Roku channel or will work straight on the computer. Probably too early and not the right setting (being at work) to drink much during the game, but that might depend on how well we play, haha
Did you guys see Northern Kentucky knocked off Cincinnati last night, and Cleveland State got their first win against Canisius.

I did see those two wins. Also, Detroit had a big win over Ohio. Solid night for the Horizon League. Was funny to see Valpo get bullied by Chicago St last night. Things arent going to hot for them after leaving the Horizon league. I also did not know that about Queens coach. Thats pretty funny because I believe it is his first season and their old coach is now at UWM. I would not imagine they are high caliber either being that it is their first year in D1. Lets hope we can get a W tomorrow.

If the team goes 2-0 this weekend just think of how that changes the narrative and the morale about this season. They'd be 2-3 and have 5 of their next 6 games against beatable mid-major opponents with 4 of those 6 being at home. It's a real chance to build off of the Wisconsin game, which wasn't terrible by recent standards. Let's make some shots and get on a roll.
I think 2-0 is attainable. 1-1 is probably more likely. 0-2 would be incredibly disappointing and another huge step backwards for the program.
Getting better is the goal but it's time to start winning some games in the process too.

I think tomorrow against Queens is a game they need to win. If they don't, I agree the second game is a must win.
Based on the first three games I also think Blake needs to move into the starting lineup over Jenkins. Jenkins does his job and is reliable, but in 72 minutes played he has only put up 7 shots and has 1 assist. He is not a threat to score, nor is he generating offense. He should absolutely be in the rotation cause he's reliable and doesn't turn it over, but the coaches should move him to backing up Blake. At the least, Blake is currently 7th on the team in minutes played and this just can't continue. He has shown at this point he's the only one who can create his own shot and he is by far the only consistent 3 point threat we currently have. Plus he's shown he can lock down on D.
I also hope to see more of Short in these two games. He has shown flashes and this will not be Power 6 bodies up front, so hopefully he is more comfortable and asserts himself.

With Queens they are going to want to shoot a lot of 3's, many in transition.
If GB can defend the 3 point line they probably have a good chance to win.
Queens beat Marshall and Marshall plays a similar up tempo style. Queens probably has better shooters and hence the W.
GB's style is polar opposite of Queens from what I can tell.

We are 8 point underdogs??? That kind of hurts my feelings a bit.

Kenny Die for queens shoots 50 percent from three. Let’s hope he had one two many red stripes last night.

This line being GB +7.5 is just disrespectful. Hope I am not the only one throwing a little change at the Phoenix today. Lets go get a W!

Quit turning the ball over. Their last three baskets have been all off turnovers.

How is Will the son of Bo? The elder Ryan would pull his hair out (if he had any) seeing them turn the ball over every other possession.

Solid half. I will take having the lead at half. However, these turnovers need to be fixed. The look like a 7th grade team facing pressure for the first time in their lives.

This is a very winnable game for us! Rose and Dailey finally seeing some PT. I like our combination of Davis, Blake, and Ziegler and I wish those 3 got the bulk of the minutes. A lot of our lineup is with 4 guys who I consider to be "guards" and just one big, I'm not sure how well that can serve us in the long run. We don't seem to be moving as fluidly on offense as we did against Wisconsin.

These refs are complete cheeks. You don't have to call everything that involves the slightest bit of contact.
