It doesn't get any easier for the Phoenix as they head to Madison for an 8pm tip against the Badgers.
On the bright side the game is on BTN so it will be easier to view than the Georgetown game.
I would say the Badgers have more overall length than GB but maybe aren't as athletic as the last two teams GB played. As would be expected for a really good big ten program they are still more athletic than GB at most positions.
I am not predicting a win. If they can head to Jamaica in good health and play a competitive 40 minutes of basketball that would make the trip to Madison tolerable IMO.

IMO, last year's game was as painful to watch as any last season, hopefully we don't have a repeat of that. I'd sure like to see more Donovan Short, Crowl and Wahl are seasoned bigs that will pose a challenge to our guys. Tough environment, huge crowd.

Give me a competitive game for all 40 minutes that’s all I ask for. Then for Coach Ryan to ghost Greg Gard for the post game handshake for tampering with Kamari McGee

Decided to make the trip to Madison to check out the Phoenix tonight. Certainly not expecting much of a game, but if they decide to surprise me and keep it somewhat competitive, that’d be cool. All I ask is that we don’t lose by more than UW Eau Claire did to Wisconsin (31 points). Pretty sad those are my current expectations with this team. Still, go Phoenix!

I got back from DC late Sunday night and there was no reason to add to that thread. Everything had been said on both sides. All I'll add is the first half was some of the most fun I have had at a Phoenix game in some time. That changed quickly in the second half and yes the carbon copy of getting blown out in the second half was frustrating, but like the first game I'm choosing to focus on what I saw in the first half which shows me what is possible.
Tonight I agree with what was said above, 40 minutes of competitive basketball where they don't get blown out is a positive for me. I was also at the UW game last year and that was brutal. It's the only GB game I've ever left early, but I needed to get to a bar for some beers to get over what I had seen.

If we do not do ok against the 2 lower level teams that we will play in Jamaica, well it doesn't look good for this year. If we end up at the bottom of our conference, OMG, well I am getting ahead of the season. Early returns are Nix are simply outmatched to the point of not being competitive.

Watching this, if Kamari McGhee would have stayed at GB, this could have been the time to beat Wisconsin. Wisconsin looks so beatable and this could be a long year for them too.

Green Bay played sound fundamental basketball in the 1st half, but shot terribly. Unfortunately, I just don't think they have many shot makers at this point.
I do think Clarence Cummings is going to have a good Horizon League season.

If we get to 50, we riot.
Hope the check was worth it.

We really don't look that bad except for well, not being able to make a shot, which is kind of important in basketball. We've had some open shots. This kind of shooting can't be the norm for these guys or they wouldn't have made it this far in their careers, right? Player development?? I hope we don't need to watch anyone spend the entire season trying to "shoot his way out of a shooting slump" - we did that last year, but we've got more guys on the roster this time

It's been refreshing seeing then play well early in the 2nd half.

Green Bay got the lead down to 5 in the 2nd half, but just didn't have enough shot making to get over the top. The best fundamental game GB had played in a long time.
Green Bay challenged shots and pressured the ball handler without fouling. This group has focused defenders.
