No upsets on day one and really only one good game to watch. UWM had a 6 point lead fairly late and scored maybe 5 points the rest of the game.
GB gets Oakland at home on Thursday night. Getting from Detroit to Green Bay is fairly easy so GB doesn't gain much of a travel advantage. Both games were close in the end. Oakland has size and GB has depth, it should be interesting to watch.

If I am Linc tomorrow night I am going to either play Manny and Will together for quite a few minutes so we can actually rebound against this team. The other option I wouldn't mind seeing is to press with a smaller lineup, and actually trapping in the back-court. The way Oakland will win this game is by dominating on the glass and in the paint. Would also be nice to get Oaklands bigs in foul trouble early.
Two other side notes: 1. We should be clear of Greg Kampe won't be able to catch us off guard with that stupid screen on a free throw again. 2. I say when we win this game, we get a court storming after what we had to witness at Oakland.

In the last game against Oakland Oladapo ate GB up. At some level guys like Cody, Tre and Josh need to be able to match up with him.
It is such an interesting match up. Oakland has maybe 3 guards that can play and really that is closer to 2 with Kangu being a wildcard. GB has 4 guards who can play and are fairly interchangeable. Oakland has 3 guys who can play inside and GB has 1 or 2 on a good day. It is a case of picking your poison. Do you want to try and match up to their size or do you want to try and exploit their lack of guards. That is why getting some of the bigger GB guys like Cody and Tre to use their guard skills on offense while still being big enough to take away one of OU's bigger guys is a key match up to me.
The OU court storm was funny, if I wasn't so old I would be more interested. However, even in my advanced state I would be up for a championship game court storm...

It will be interesting to see if Brad Brechting will be back tomorrow night. He didn’t play last night but it clearly didn’t matter as they kicked the crap out of Cleveland State

If that big fuck is out it will be an easy win for Green Bay. Won't be able to dominate us on the boards.

We better have Manny and/or Tre on XHM the whole game. No excuses.

I always like mixing radio play-by-play highlights with music. I think it was 101.1 WIXX that remixed a bunch of songs with Wayne Larrivee's big Packers playoff game calls during the Super Bowl run and those songs are still a staple of my pregame and tailgate playlists to this day. So in that spirit I threw together Brian Kuklinski's calls of some of the big plays from last night with music: m.soundcloud.com/phearthephoenix/highlights-green-bay-78-oakland-63-3520

The game last night left very little to be mad about. Green Bay played really well on both ends of the court and it was sweet redemption for what happened two Sundays ago.
I am looking forward to seeing this team play in Indy. Of the 4 teams it really feels wide open as to which team will win.
GB only played one bad game against the remaining field, at UIC. GB was 3-3 against the field. WSU didn't play any bad games against the remaining field. WSU was 4-2 against the field. NKU was bad at home against GB and UIC and bad on the road at WSU. NKU was 2-4 against the field. UIC was bad at home against NKU and on the road at WSU. UIC was 3-3 against the field.

How are we feeling about Monday?

Well in our first two meetings we have held NKU to 13-53 from the three point line. Which is very good. Now does that mean they are going to shoot that poor on Monday? Who knows. Also we have held Tyler Sharpe in check the first two games as well.
The only reason we lost the game at the Kress Center to NKU was because Langdon went off and scored 21 points and shot 5-7 from three. His best game all year. I would assume we will let him get his and try to contain Sharpe and Walton.
Depends on how you look at it but NKU will only have played one game in 15 days while GB has played three. So is that good for GB or not?
NKU will play that zone and if Amari Davis can get the ball around the free throw line and hit his mid range jumpers as usual we will be fine. Will open up looks for JayQuan and Kam. Shot selection needs to be better than it was against Oakland, if we stay patient open looks will come.
Nothing would be sweeter than sending home NKU! Let’s go GB!!
Also I believe UIC will give Wright State a game. Jordan Blount always finds a way to get inside Loudon Loves head.
