Heads held high, guys. This one hasn’t emotionally crushed me like years past. The future is bright.

Heads held high, guys. This one hasn’t emotionally crushed me like years past. The future is bright. It isn’t really. They lose 2 of their 3 best players. This team will continue to be stuck in 3-4th placeville under this regime. But let’s play in the CIT again so we can get 20 wins and put lipstick on a pig for the second year in a row. Pathetic Pathetic defense effort. A Linc Darner special. It hasn’t crushed you because you’ve become immune to this. We all expect it now so it’s no longer surprising. I saw this coming a mile away especially after Wright St lost.

I think Japannah can be a Jordan Fouse type player, etc. It has been a lot more bleak in previous seasons. I think the future is looking up. Other teams in the league are losing a lot more, and that’s taking nothing away from our four awesome graduating guys. I just think next years prospective roster can fill their shoes and then some.

Better team won tonight. Solid season that gave me hope for the future, unlike the previous couple. As always, go Phoenix!

I don't think we played as a team like we needed but on the other hand, I knew it would be hard especially when you see the Horizon League guys upset that Wright State lost, I knew we would get no calls. I thought it was supposed to be let the players win the game, but they did not want to have 2 upsets. I guess it would look bad for conference or something.
Don't be surprised if they change the conference format again because the Double Bye is what cost Wright State. They were totally out of sync and had no legs at all. They were totally out of sync for sure in my opinion.

I cannot for the life of me understand why Manny Patterson sees 9 minutes of playing time in a game like this. I think defensively we look downright foolish around the basket and on offense we have no inside presence whatsoever. I mean what is it? We start the guy, then park him on the bench. I watch every game - what am I missing here?

In game one Dantez Walton didn't play so GB could play a big guy and Manny took advantage.
In game 2 & 3 Walton played so GB preferred smaller quicker guys than Manny to try and match up on defense better.
I'm not saying that worked for GB because it obviously didn't. I would prefer they take their chances with Manny and see what happens but obviously the staff doesn't think that way.
Manny missed that hook shot deep in the paint in the second half and was never seen again. Apparently he spent a ton of time staring at that same hoop after the game. I would guess he was wondering what might have been had that gone down and he stayed in longer.
Difference in the game to me was Kam getting his 4th foul. That caused lesser defensive players to have to try and guard Tate or Sharpe and that didn't work.
Also, for Sharpe that's a team turnover if he decides not to score the uncontested layup at the end. Don't be a jerk. I personally will remember that when it comes to NKU moving forward.
Overall the season wasn't a total waste. They pulled it together as it rolled along. They were 15-11 against mid major teams overall and did better on the road against mid majors going 7-5. If they didn't play a ridiculous schedule they probably would have been 19-14 or 20-13. Not great but still...
There are lots of question marks heading into next year but this team will be at least as good as this year again and that is something to build from.

Ended up being a good year not to win the Horizon League tourney. With GBs luck I’m really surprised they didn’t win it. It would figure the one year they make it they don’t have a tourney. That said I’m glad I’m not a Badger fan. They were on fire and who knows how far they would have went. As someone who cheers for Marquette as I live with an alum, it’s probably a blessing for Wojo the season was canceled. Might buy him another year.
