After Detroit just pulled off that monster upset, does anyone know what the seeding scenarios will look like heading into the weekend?

Here's a good article from earlier today with a whole bunch of headache inducing scenarios, but it was written before the 2 games were played tonight. As far as Green Bay is concerned, the best they can do is get the #2 seed by beating UIC tomorrow night and Oakland on Saturday and having Valpo beat Cleveland State on Friday night. If GB wins the next 2 and CSU beats Valpo on Friday, GB will be the 3 seed. If GB drops either of its last 2 games they'll be the 4 seed.

I'm probably wrong, but if the us, CSU and Valpo all end up with four losses couldn't our RPI potentially be higher which would be the tie breaker? I probably missed something in that convoluted post which answers my question, but then again, maybe not.

I probably missed something in that convoluted post which answers my question, but then again, maybe not. I think in that scenario you take the record against the other 2 teams we would be tied with and compare it against the other 2. CSU would be 3-1 (split with Valpo, swept GB) Valpo would be 2-2 (split with GB and CSU) GB would be 1-3 (split with Valpo, swept by CSU) So while we'd still be regular season "co-champions" in that scenario, we'd be the 3 seed playing in Cleveland

I'll take my chances with GB in Cleveland (fewer and less engaged fans in a cavernous arena) versus playing in a packed ARC in Valparaiso, IN, where it can be pretty intimidating.

Since the bracket is finalized, here is how I see it shaking out:
First Round:
Detroit over Youngstown State 75- 62
UIC over Wright State 63-60
Quarterfinals:
Detroit over Cleveland State 70-65
Oakland over UIC 79-61
Semifinals:
Valpo over Detroit 66-64
Green Bay over Oakland 80-76
Championship:
Valpo over Green Bay 77-70
I hope I'm wrong and we can pull off the upset, but the odds aren't in our favor.

Valpo is certainly a tough matchup for anyone. That big shot blocker they've got made it really tough on GB as the Phoenix relies on taking the ball right to the basket.
Who knows, maybe somebody upsets Valpo and GB wins their game against whomever. Suddenly I'm feeling much more optimistic after the last game. Just need to win 2 games, it certainly can be done.

Other predictions anyone? You'll blame Wardle if they lose? I kid, I kid... I think GB is as likely to lose their first game as they are to win the whole thing. I'm confident the defense will be there, but will their shots fall? Will Keifer impose his will and pull this team to two wins (as elite guards often do in the postseason)? I'm certainly not scared of playing at Valpo. GB fought their way back into that game despite the best player in the conference being a hindrance to the team. If I have to make a prediction, I say GB beats Valpo in the championship 58-52. I have a feeling that Sykes and Mays will both have a huge impact on this tournament. Or maybe I'm just being a homer.

I highly doubt that 147 total pts would happen if Valpo/GB meet in the title game. Would be another defensive struggle. I like our draw with mostly likely Oakland in the semi finals and two teams in CSU or Detroit who are capable of an upset at Valpo. I just want to see the seniors get 40 minutes to show they deserve a ticket to the dance.

Don't forget Kenneth Lowe, who has actually looked a lot more confident as of late.
I like that GB drew Oakland instead of CSU. Would love to see CSU upset Valpo at home and have to come back to GB. Just don't let Chris Beaver or Peter Juzenas anywhere near their HL Tourney games and I'll be relatively happy.

First Round: Detroit over Youngstown State Wright State over UIC
Quarterfinals: Cleveland State over Detroit
Oakland over Wright State Semifinals: Cleveland State over Valpo (Too tough to beat Cleveland State three times)
Green Bay over Oakland
Championship: Green Bay over Cleveland State (58-54) I just don’t see Sykes never making it to the Dance, GB gets it done. The bench needs to come through; this won’t happen if most of our starters have to go 35+ minutes.

First Round: Detroit over Youngstown State
UIC over Wright State
Quarterfinals: Cleveland State over Detroit
Oakland over UIC
Semifinals: Valpo over Cleveland State
Green Bay over Oakland
Championship: Valpo over Green Bay I think Valpo's team defense is tough. GB has the ability to overcome this, they need the focus.
I am picking it by the numbers. The only upsets on my radar are Detroit over CSU and hopefully GB over Valpo!

My picks:
First Round: Detroit over Youngstown State
UIC over Wright State
Quarterfinals: Cleveland State over Detroit
Oakland over UIC
Semifinals: CSU over Valpo
Green Bay over Oakland
Championship: GB over CSU (GB slays the CSU dragon) 60-56
But the way HL tourney's have gone the past couple of years, we could have an all-Detroit area final (UDM v. Oakland at the O-rena)......;-)

Pretty damn close on both of my predictions, not bad haha... Anyway I was proud to watch UIC beat Wright State after getting smoked in the first half. I always like to root for the underdog and even though UIC had the higher seed, they were basically the underdog in this one. The way they fought back makes me think their game against Oakland could be a lot closer than I initially thought. Either way, I still think the Phoenix will end up beating either team in the semis.
