I think Oakland beats UIC by 10 tonight. I think Cleveland St / Detroit is going to be a really good game with CSU eeking it out.

If we're lucky, that win against Oakland might be a sign the Phoenix can step up their game for the tourney. No excuse to lose to UIC tonite.

That was a really impressive win. Sure UIC doesn't have a great record but GB played very good defense most of the game. There were plenty of times that UIC couldn't dribble the ball past the 3 point line. GB received contributions from other players like A Mac...those 3's were gigantic. They stroked it fairly well from the free throw line. Francis played well on d, the moment certainly didn't feel too big for him. Eight assists for Jordan, unreal all around game. Finally Sykes put to rest any PoY debate. In the biggest game of the year so far he looked fresh and delivered.
Just a few comments about the actual in game play. A few very nice things to see that we haven't seen a lot of or any of this year. It almost feels like Wardle has saved a few tricks for when the other teams are comfortable and on short notice with scouting. Sykes got lobs twice on two variations of a McKinnie screen in a 2-3 zone. Haven't seen that since Alec Brown was on the court. Fouse really did a nice job of running offense at the top of the zone and getting enough penetration to set up other guys. Sykes brought out the counter moves. There was a drive then the next time a step back. A jumper on one, a head fake on another. UIC didn't stand a chance in the second half with the different looks and they looked dejected with about 10 minutes left. At that point the game was in the bank and drawing interest as Ted Davis of the Bucks likes to say.
