Does anyone know if Alec had any procedures on his shoulder, and/or, will be be ready for Portsmouth?

I would be surprised if Alec is in Portsmouth. That is usually for guys who are trying to work their way in to the 2nd round. Alec is on the radar of NBA teams, I would guess he goes straight to the Chicago camp.

Thanks for the update. I think we saw last night how being double teamed can impact a players game. Kaminsky was double teamed last night and it impacted his numbers, Brown saw that every game. Brown has to be considered to be one of Green Bay's all time greats. I believe the team will be good next year but Brown will be missed.

Alec has signed with Bill Duffy Agency out of Southern California. They represent some big name players like: Steve Nash, Rajon Rondo, Joakim Noah and Klay Thompson to name a few. Should be a good opportunity to get Alec ready for the individual workouts before the draft.

Alex Brown as one of the all-time greats?
Just don't see it.
Did he improve? Yes. Was he unlike any previous Phoenix player? Yes. Did he block a ton of shots? Yes... On a team that couldn't or wasn't set up to stop dribble drive penetration, he had great anticipation and a lot of chances (too many for my taste) to block shots.
But was he ever his team's go-to player? No. Did he.come up big in big games? What was his one clutch heroic performance that sticks in your memory?
Maybe I'm wrong but ill be shocked if he gets drafted.
All time greats ahead of him? Willis. Woelffer Ripley Barnes Anderson Bennett Martinez sims benjohnson Grzesk Nordgaard Sykes ... So well maybe top 10 or 15 but no higher.

So well maybe top 10 or 15 but no higher. That is an impressive list of players. I have seen them all play and enjoyed watching them all, I would put Brown in the top five with Bennett and Nordgaard ahead of him. Brown finishes his career in the top 10 in the following categories: Points (7) Scoring average (9) Field Goals made (9) F.G attempted (6) Free throws made (5) Free throws attempted (4) Rebounds (3) Blocked shots (1) Games played (6) I do not remember a player receiving as much double teaming every time he touched the ball. Certainly Bennett received a lot of attention, but he also benefited from a lot of screens and plays designed to free him up. Many of the other players also played against lesser competition. Even if it is only top ten, I would consider top ten in 40 plus years of basketball to be one of the all time greats.

I agree that he would be in the top 5. Everything you said was correct and like you said I've watched them all. Overall he would grade out very high. You have to respect a big that can make that many FT's.

Portsmouth would be a waste of his time. Chicago is where he should go.

It's almost comical how naive people on here can be. You have a skilled 7'1 kid who can shoot from outside and pull the other teams post players out to the wing and get doubled so it opens the entire lane up. However you give him no credit for anything. Will be interesting to see how you replace him as he was such a unique player and was a matchup nightmare for teams. But to say he's not 15 in the school? Come on you can't be serious...

If you don't have him top five, you don't fully understand the game of basketball. He had a huge impact on making it easier for his teammates.
Time to take the blinders off.
His teammates could take more risks on defense because they knew he was there to help out if they lost on the gamble. Our players penetrated so much easier when he was in the game. He was the go to guy, until Sykes grow into what he is now.
C mon man
I hope none of those guys on that list are division two or NAIA players. To have non division one players ahead of him would be a joke.

Alec brown was a stretch four. Not a traditional post player, you have to look at him in that perspective.

I am not sure what games you watched over the years but just going on that Alec is for sure in the top 5 players of all-time. When you factor in where he stands on the all time statistical listing he is definitely in the top 5. The only players I would say were or are better would be Tony B. Jeff N. Keifer S., so on my list he is number 4. Not only was he a great player for the school but a great ambassador of college athletics and what they should be.

What about B.J. LaRue and Jerry Carstenson? I remember the last time the conference tournament was at Brown County Arena and they got to the championship game. Maybe didn't score as much because Coach Heideman's teams played slow, but I bet both were 1,000 point scorers and highly skilled players.
