I also see USA Today has us listed as 21-6. The two Division II games don't count for the Selection Committee.
Here's where maybe getting scammed by that bogus tournament in November hurts, and losing two or three games when the thing got cancelled at the last minute. (Still something I have never heard of in D1 basketball)
Probably wouldn't have changed our RPI, beating some bottom feeding D1 weaklings, but at least we'd have a flashier record, 23-6 or 24-6.
If I got to choose between a 40 RPI Toledo team that's about 27-6 and loses in their tournament and a No. 61 UWGB that's 21-6... it's an easy call.

Well as much as I wish you guys would make the NCAA's it just isn't going to happen on most boards you guys are not even on the last 8 out and with no chance to move up its all but over.
Great win vs Virginia and great game vs Wisky but the 2 losses to Milwaukee on your home floor killed it.
Also losing to Harvard on neutral floor was another chance to get an important win.
The Eastern Michigan while not terrible another nail in the coffin. I know it isn't fair the committee expects a 28-3 record at worst.

The reason there is a selection committee instead of just seeding per RPI is so they can adjust for factors such as injury. A healthy GB team is an outstatnding NCAA worthy team with an at-large worthy rsume. That said, the NCAA selection committee has always went out of their way to hold back mid-majors, and they'll likely do the same to Green Bay.
The only NIT matchup that would get basketball fans in this state excited is Marquette @ Green Bay. That would be awesome. Buzz would be unable to duck the Phoenix any longer this year like he had hoped.

I don't know about the Resch. A match up with Marquette would get me excited again.

A matchup with MU in GB would be good. Just based on the RPI, GB should be looking at a home game in the first round. However I would guess this like the CBI and CIT looks at the financials first. Games at Illinois, Minnesota, Missouri or Marquette would make sense from a travel perspective. Here is an NIT bracketology site. www.bracketmatrix.com/nit.html

They'll also be a higher seed. The NIT used to be completely money driven, but it now is run by the NCAA and they have restored some integrity to the tournament. ESPN is no longer part of the selection committee.

I would love to see a GB v. MU matchup at the Resch once again for the NIT......No more hiding by Buzz. If healthy, I think GB can beat MU.
I just hope there is a shred of wisdom on the NIT selection committee and not just cave to the BCS conferences and give top seeds and home games to those teams.....Every time I watch an early round game, those venues are usually half-empty and the atmosphere is apathetic since most of those students are on spring break, or those schools felt that they 'deserved' and NCAA bid versus being on the wrong side of the bubble. I think GB would get a better (and more appreciative and enthusiastic)crowd than a Minnesota, MU, or Illinois, if we hosted at least for the first couple rounds anyway.....I watched the Robert Morris upset of Kentucky last season in the NIT (at RMU), now THAT was an atmosphere (but we all know that RMU got the home game because UK was hosting the NCAA's).

sportsillustrated.cnn.com/college-basketball/news/20140311/bubble-watch-selection-sunday-ncaa-tournament/?eref=sihpAs long as they're still talking about us I still have hope. Last year the committee gave teams like Boise St., La Salle, MTSU, and St. Mary's a bid in instead of going with teams like Virginia and Tennessee. I believe the committee appreciates a mid-major team taking advantage of their opportunities to beat a top RPI team. They look at the power conference teams and realize that those teams had many more opportunities to solidify their spot and failed to separate themselves from the rest of the mid-major bubble teams.

After Buzz's wiff of a hand shake with Coach Wardle and almost running over a cameraman to get off the floor as fast as he could. Oh ya baby bring him back lol. ps I was about 15' away when it all happened so I know. I was laughing when the poor cameraman fell when Buzz jumped over him, I hope he got a picture I would love to see Buzz's face when he realized the cameraman was under him lying on his back. Buzz was so upset I don't even think he new it was a person. I'm sure he thought it was just a chair lying on the floor.

Here's one latest prediction for the NIT.....GB as a #4 seed hosting NC State. I see that MU is a #3 seed and Toledo is a #5 seed. If we don't get a chance to host MU, I would also take Toledo to come to GB and have a TK-BW battle royale.....;-) www.bracketmatrix.com/nit.html

I don't think anyone can argue that Green Bay could win a game or two if they got the right match up. The problem is the profile just does not stack up against the other teams that will make the field.
The Virginia win was huge but that is all you have. I am as mad as any non true Green Bay fan as there is because I root for all those 1 bid conf teams hard as you can for the best team to make the big dance as seeing them come close or win against the big boys is 1 of the greatest things you can see during March Madness.
Last year Middle Tenn got a surprise bid (I had them as my last team in but still didn't think they would actually get a bid) but they had an RPI of around 29 huge difference from Green Bay's 60+ RPI.
Well I am hoping against hope you make it but I don't see it.
I really think this team could have made the sweet 16 with the right draw.
