Milwaukee dominated Valpo on the boards and were quicker to the 50/50 balls. The rebounding advantages was 41 to 19. That was the game. The Panthers front court dominated and Aaron cut to the basket like we've seen Sykes do all season. This will not be an easy game for the Nix. The big difference from past match-ups could be the presence of Al McKinnie. GB is deeper and fresh. Milwaukee played a seven man rotation against Valpo. They went 8 deep against Detroit on Tuesday with Wichmann going off for 12 points, in eleven minutes.
This will be UWM's third game in five days. Lets hope the adrenalin wears outs. It didn't last night. Give credit to Coach Jeter and his players they have come together and are looking good. If the Nix win they will have earned it big time.

If we play 2 halves it will be no contest. But all smack aside we have to hustle, Valpo was out hustled and played like the Freshman they are. Keeping cool, smart, hustling, blocking out. Coach Wardle has really taken a step forward in decision making will be the difference tonight. It has to be a complete effort and should be when it gets to this point. No games are easy from now on. I look forward to cheering you on to another win. Go Phoenix!

Good luck tonight guys.
I am thinking we will come out with the same intensity as last night but I have a feeling it will wear off over time as the team becomes tired while Green Bay is very rested. I think it'll be a close game though and I can't wait for tonight!

I expect a close game. I would be shocked if Green Bay won by 12 points.

I am not going to pretend that I am not nervous about tonight. Milwaukee played GB the toughest in both games of any team in the league this year. Losing tonight would be bad as it relates to the big dance and having it done by the biggest rival would hurt that much more.
Milwaukee won last night based on hustle, rebounding and a lack of valpo defense. As a general comment those are three things that they should not win against GB. Shooting is a different story.
Both teams are different from when they played before. Milwaukee is using Moore and Lyle more as well as Wichmann. Moore is a strong hustle player and GB needs to match his intensity. I was at the second half of their game on Tuesday against Detroit. Wichmann hit two 3's when I was watching. Both of them came unguarded off the extra pass. Good ball pressure shuts down a guy like Wichmann who right now isn't getting shots on the move. Stopping the drive at the point of attack without helping too much will do wonders for slowing down the shooting of Milwaukee. Against Detroit and Valpo the defense was weak and they got a lot of drive and kick/dish hoops.
GB is using McKinnie and Findlay instead of Garrett and Fulton. That has been a good thing for GB. Fulton and Garrett while experienced also make a lot of frustrating plays. Having two guys who are more steady and better defensively has been a good thing. Plus McKinnie is as good as any big for Milwaukee and really helps limit the drop off when the GB bench comes in.
GB has their back against the wall tonight. They are playing a team that beat them at home recently, a team that is riding a two game hot streak where they won easily, a team that is their rival and a team that GB fans can't stomach losing too. Yet I am optimistic. This GB team has done some of it's best work when their back was against the wall. At full strength with rest I think they are ready to face a great battle and come out on top.
On a sidenote, Rob Jeter said something in the Milwaukee paper about wishing the game was on Sunday to help even the playing field and give his team rest. Two things about that. First, I am sure he didn't say that in 2011 when they hosted the tournament. Second, if Coach K. would have said that while at GB can you imagine what Milwaukee fans would have said about him?

"Good ball pressure shuts down a guy like Wichmann who right now isn't getting shots on the move".
Wichman is hobbled by a bad ankle and is scheduled for surgery on Thursday.

I didn't see that quote but if true that is beyond stupid. I am all for giving the top team every advantage possible in a conference tournament. They earned it by outperforming everyone else on the court all season. We don't deserve an even playing field. If Rob had the guys play all year at the level of intensity they showed last night then maybe it wouldn't be such an uphill battle. I would strongly disagree with ANY coach who made that statement.

I am looking forward to this game because I have no idea who is going to win.
I thought UWM hurt us the last game when they played big (Moore in the front line, and McWhorter is a big guard) but then the little guy, Aaron, is so quick he gets into the lane and also hits threes that they're not one-dimensional.
Sykes will play tough. Hope his shots fall enough. I see another 30-pt game where he's the one guy who leaves it all on the floor. Will Brown show up? Most important, will the Milwaukee team that looked so awful a lot of times this season reappear if we get them on their heels?
I hope GB plays its best but Milwaukee has an interesting team with a lot of players who can cause us problems (Tiby, Aaron).

26-13 UWM.....This had BETTER not be deja vu. This is the biggest game in GB since 1996, and GB is laying a BIG egg right now. UWM is not exactly the kind of team that will have a defensive clinic. Why do we struggle against this team this year? Someone tell GB that this isn't the 2005 UWM Panthers and that Bruce Pearl is not on the sidelines.
