Huge test today at YSU tipoff time is 12:30PM. Vegas giving us very little chance to win as I see we are 10 point underdogs. Tough stretch to end the season, but we're close to the finish line, and feels good to be on top, let's stay there.

I see a loss tonight. If we shoot like we did against RMU, GB will get embarrassed. We also need a few others to step up and not have Reynolds carry the scoring load.

Oof. Noah Reynolds is out with the flu. That's a kick in the dick.

Down only by 4 at the half without your best player and even had a 10 point lead in the first half. Nix are looking good.

Up 2, just over 8 to play. Go Nix!

OMG what a game!! A fantastic play drawn up to get Wonders the open look 3 to walk out without going to OT. Need to root for Wright State tonight to knock off Oakland

HOLY 💩!!!
No Noah, no problem against the best team in the HL not named GB.
My only complaint is the transition defense. It was leaky at times and resembled a bullfighting matador in the second half when we regained the lead and were up by 6 only to let YSU back on quick transition baskets and took the lead until Fosters’s 3-pt winner.
This is an example of growth. Growth as a team, who barely survived a lesser opponent 2 nights ago, lost their best player to the flu right before the game, versus a great team. This is not the same team we saw in Nov and Dec. We did not see this kind of growth in the Linc Era, and saw only regression in the Will Ryan Era. I’m still amazed at this team and what Coach Wicks has done.
We got the next 4 games at home. I want to see 6K+ for the 2 at the Resch and sell out the Kress for the other 2.
Speaking of the Kress…..Why did we schedule 2 late season games at the Kress???

The last play was a classic and two first year players were key components. Hall inbounds to Douglas -- Wonders comes off a double screen from Byhre and Ruedinger (did Rudy actually keep two YSU player away from Wonders?) Douglas passes to Wonder at the top of the key. Did Youngstown State expect the Nix to go for two? The Penguins did not get out on the three point line.

I wonder if Preston thought to himself "Why don't I just be Noah Reynolds today?". Ruedy was awesome.
I've watched him play for a long time, always respected how hard he played, but not thought he'd be a scorer at the D1 level. I guess I broke my own rule: Never bet against work ethic. Kids a worker, and he has a coaching staff that can teach.

Great game, I will be watching this one a second time. EVERYONE contributed and played their role perfectly. It is hard to overcome free throw shooting like Youngstown had today.
That last play will be remembered.

It’s funny he is complaining on the horizon being a one bid league. It doesn’t help the leagues case much when his squad schedules 4 non-division one schools.
