I see that Cody Schwartz has committed to San Jose State today. On the local talent scene GB gets shut out with Pritzl going to UW and Heldt going to MU. I am not sure if all of those guys landed at the right levels and I do like the class that GB has so far so I am not crying about it. I still haven't seen any names strongly associated with the last scholarship for GB. I do like the idea of being in position for a mid season transfer. Green Bay really wanted Heldt, but I don't think the other 2 were a priority. I think they had gone in a different from Schwartz for awhile. Best of luck to Cody, he's been fun to watch, especially in those epic battles with Seymour.

The last I heard, Green Bay had pretty much moved completely away from Schwartz. I'm still getting tired of the mid-majors getting beat on every recruit the high-majors in-state also go for.

Without having inside knowledge of anything I would agree that it seems like Schwartz and GB have both been looking in different directions for a long time. I don't mind that as he isn't the type of player that really fits with this version of GB basketball. He seemed like much more of a fit for the TK era.

I don't know about being a fit for the Kowalczyk era, but after talking to a few people about it, it seemed to them that this last season was pretty average for him. These sources are two D-I assistant coaches not in the Horizon League. One reminded me that at one point, Marquette was seriously considering Schwartz. I know he had no real interest from any of the four D-I schools in-state for a scholarship.

Medium level athlete but good shooter for a big guy...seems like a dream for Coach K. since he recruited several guys just like that.

That's an outstanding, in depth release, loaded with quotes from the players coaches. Scott Venci just put out his story on the three-some, which is good too: Green Bay Men's Basketball adds three playersIt's always a relief when we get to signing day without a hitch. Great to have these 3 very promising prospects in the fold. They fit Green Bay's development plan perfectly.

Wardle and staff have proven to be good evaluators of talent and good recruiters. The team looks to have the talent to play at a high level beyond the Sykes/Mays/McKinnie Era. The Nix have some athletic guard/perimeter players developing, bulk inside and a couple of outside marksmen in the pipeline. On my wish list for the final spot is a Mays/McKinnie clone. Did you notice in a recent team picture with Kanter standing next to Uwadiae that they are closer in height than most of us thought? www.greenbayphoenix.com/ViewArticle.dbml?DB_OEM_ID=22500&ATCLID=209763505

on a more positive note i follow Antoine Pittman on Twitter and he had an amazing alley oop dunk last weekend. It was definitely Sykes esque. His head was above the backboard and with some of the current players we have athletism should not drop off next year.

He's a perfect fit for Green Bay.

Green Bay is showing interest in Leonard Harper-Baker, 6' 6' 203 lb forward from Detroit who is currently at Quakerdale Prep Academy in New Providence, Iowa.

ipsbasketball.com/leonard_harper_bakerI like the description. After they didn't fit with Church last fall I thought they still needed an athletic front court player. He seems a little smaller than what I had in mind. I would love to see some game video.

I'm sure we aren't the only school with new found interest, but apparently the only school to offer him anything was the 1 win Florida A&M Rattlers. If its between here and there it should be a no brainer...
