One of the best coaches in GB history is gone

Woody Wilson, Hall of Fame Coach, has died. Woody had outstanding High School teams at Monticello and Sparta. Recently he has been the assistant coach at St. Norbert’s . Woody had more passion for the game of basketball then any coach that I knew. We will all miss him.

At Green Bay, Woody was an outstanding assistant for coach Dick Bennett and Mike Heideman.

This is sad news. Coach Wilson was a very nice man. Combined with the earlier passing of Coach Heideman it has been a tough year for the Phoenix family.

Woody Wilson was a great basketball coach. I grew up going to several of his "Hoosier School of Basketball' camps as well as doing some individual workouts in high school on the weekends before the season. He had so much energy and passion for helping anyone get better- regardless of ability. He will be missed.
