Green Bay has been recruiting him since last summer. 4-star recruit according to ESPN with offers from DePaul and Nevada. Tubby Smith offered while at Texas Tech too. Sounds like he had a good showing this past weekend: www.hoopseen.com/node/2106GB also offered his Hopkins HS teammate last week - Simon Wright

I get the impression that GB isn't on his radar or vice versa. Nevada, DePaul and a couple schools below GB in the pecking order seem to be what he is looking at.

Nice to see UWGB is still after this guy. Don't ever give up!

That is a great update. I read an article last month where he named his top 5 schools and GB wasn't on the list.
I have to wonder if DePaul or to a lesser extent Nevada have changed priorities causing El Amin to look for more options. He would be a solid recruit for GB.

Has been reported that he committed to Ball State today.

Shoot, I feel like we should be able to compete with a school like Ball State. I can't say I know anything about their program or even where their school is located. Oh well, onto the next one. Which by the way I tweeted out to Manny Patterson's AAU team the other day asking how the visit went and I received two responses it went well. So we shall see! Practice starts next week!

I think the staff knew El Amin was a no go for some time. Pipes was a similar option and the kind of player who would blossom in Darner's uptempo system. Having an offer from a service academy suggests the guy has a good head on his shoulders -- not something to be underrated.

I like his game and think he can play in the Mac. I also get the impression that he had to accept his level in hoops as he start with higher interest and worked down over the years.
GB can absolutely compete with Ball State for recruits. They are in Muncie Indiana with no recent success and older facilities. I get the impression that Ball State stayed with him through the process as higher teams lost interest. Whereas GB wasn't active with him for a few months.
Plus with Pipes ready to go I don't see another PG being needed.
