Holy smokes. That was an awful half. There is a crucial need for a half-court offense. How many turnovers can we commit on these out of control fast breaks? It also doesn't help that I have listen to Shannon Sharpe do the color commentating, I can't understand a damn thing this guy is saying. But the live feed is surprisingly clear and bright. Let's hope the Phoenix can at least make it respectable this half.

A disappointing road loss -- they were not ready at the start of the game and it cost them a L. The second half was an even 30-30 contest but that didn't make up for the poor start. It should be interesting to see what happens when they come to Green Bay. I suspect a much different contest.

Brutal. I'm now relieved I wasn't able to watch. They better buckle up or Miami will do the same. GSU is really, really good, but I have a hard time believing they're this much better than FGCU.

I hate to say it, but nights like this will continue to happen unless this team finds more consistent scoring outside of Sykes and Mays. Love and Lowe have been very disappointing. Lowe plays way too many minutes to score 4pt and 2.5 rbs a game. Time to use Francis/small even more as the two guard. This is a good defensive team but against elite talent they do not have the firepower to win a high scoring game.

I figured that GB would lose to GSU on the road, but not by 24 points. I agree with using Francis/Small at the 2 guard more. I would start Francis. Love can still get minutes, and not have to keep Keif on the floor for so long and save him for the late season games, but Love as a 2-guard is not helping this team. We need more scoring, and Love settles for jumpers for a guy who isn't a great jump shooter.
I don't know why BW has Lowe as a starter still. We should go a little quicker with a frontcourt of Mays, Al, and Jordan. Lowe plays too many minutes for a little production we get from him.
Hope to see a better game against Miami.....They beat a pretty good Illinois team the other night and beat Florida earlier this season.

It turns out that one team is really good and was ready to play and the other team has some question marks and wasn't ready to play. Hunter and Harrow were better offensive players than Fouse and Love where defensive players. They constantly were able to turn the corner on those guys. Plus Hunter hit some really deep shots.
GB looked lost against that sagging defense, so many times they stood around with no ball movement. Then when they did try to make moves they didn't anticipate the defense very well and a ton of passes knocked away or stolen. The thing that frustrated me the most was GSU wasn't much bigger if any in the front court and yet they totally controlled the glass and blocked a ton of GB shots. The Phoenix should be embarrassed by that, that shouldn't have happened.
I thought some of the guys were too interested in smack talk to start and not interested in making winning basketball plays. Even Sykes at the end of the first half tried to make a statement dunk that didn't work instead of taking a layup that would have worked most likely. As the half went along you could see the look in the guys eyes, the same look in Madison of frustration. Despite a nice start to the second half the whole was too deep.
As for Lowe and Love, they kind of have to play Lowe. Kanter and Hendo aren't ready imo. A Mac has moments but he still seems off and is often in foul trouble. I know the staff sees Lowe do good things in practice. I will assume they are waiting for him in the games. This slightly reminds me of Sykes vs. Johnson when Sykes was a freshman. Sykes was the better long term play for sure but he was making mistakes at first that Johnson wasn't. BW letting him play through and the rest is history. Lowe could get his game clicking with time. As for Love he is a really good on ball defender usually, we as fans underrate that part of his game. It was good to see Francis and Small step up though so that we know we have options.
