Looking forward to this one mainly because Sykes will be wearing the name of my friends brother. Otherwise I'm don't go to many D2 games. Hope they award my friend, Sykes jersey when game is over? I know it has deeply affected him, both were in Iraq at the same time. I feel for all the families that have been hurt by wars.

Also remember to be there early for the hanging of last season's Horizon League Champion banner. That will be a nice addition to the Resch Center.

Well the guys were out to a nice start, lost their way for a little bit and then rallied for an easy win.
It was great to see Sykes making his 3's and also making jumpers off/behind screens.
Jordan Fouse with two makes from behind the arc...seriously if he can shoot like that he is a long time pro in the making playing at the highest levels around the world.
Daeshon and Henry were stars in their roles. Wardle talks about that all of the time and those guys did what they are supposed to do. The block out high for Henry was insane. If he can continue to have any paint game on offense, he made two nice hoops, he will be very valuable.
I thought Greg, Carrington and Alfonzo were a little too content shooting jumpers. Greg was the only guy of that group who still made a point of going hard to the rim and ended up with double digits because of it.
I was sad to see Tevin not in the rotation but I did think he played well with an inexperienced lineup, he moved the ball and set guys up.

I was sad to see Tevin not in the rotation but I did think he played well with an experienced lineup, he moved the ball and set guys up. I would pretty much agree with your everything you said. Henry suprised me with a couple good moves under the basket. He tried to block every shot within 5 feet and made many alter there shot when they were 5-7 feet away from him. Daeshon also looked like he was ready to contribute right away. Love disappointed me until the end of the 1st half but more than made up for it in the 2nd. Coach Wardle used many different combinations through out the game. From the 8-9 minute mark of the 2nd half the top 5-6 were done for the day. Small looks like he could play middle linebacker in the NFL but moved well. Nice to see the 8-12th men get some time. From what I saw Kanter and Josh will be the 11th and 12th man off the bench. Saw a lot of good things from Fouse I think he was 2-4 from 3 point land and his shot looked smooth. He's must have really worked a lot on it. Good article Andrew Gavins take on the game. www.greenbayphoenix.com/ViewArticle.dbml?DB_OEM_ID=22500&ATCLID=209767694Another good one from Scott Venci. www.greenbaypressgazette.com/story/sports/college/uwgb/2014/11/15/sykes-uwgb-roll-past-illinois-springfield/19109045/

One other note from the game, the box score lists the attendance at 3201. Now based on what I could see from ESPN3 there was no way that many people were there. However, I would assume they use the same metrics as always which likely includes tickets sold. I know I have tickets and didn't go. Anyway, if they had that many tickets sold for this game there is a good chance that if they live up to expectations the Resch will be rocking later in the season with very large crowds.
As a side note to this I see that every men's and women's home game has a promotional sponsor, which is different than in the past. Not every game had a sponsor. I really have to give MEG and her team a lot of credit for this kind of improvement.

I was actually pleased with the size of the crowd given that it was a division two opponent and the Badgers had a big game at the same time. I was guessing around 3000.

I did not use my season tickets for this game as I now live several hours away. We did not get any bonus tickets this year. Too bad as this is a good way to introduce people to the fun.
Can we still exchange tickets? Does anyone know the answer? This is a great perk.

I too missed this game with a coaching commitment, but I'll be at the rest. I did watch the replay on ESPN3, and saw plenty I liked. Illinois-Springfield lost by just 19 to Vanderbilt last week.
The team didn't run many sets, but when they do, look for them to try to get Greg Mays isolated 1 on 1. There just won't be many bigs who can keep up with him. Daeshon Francis had a terrific debut. Could he be the Phoenix next big star? Uwadiae is developing fast, he could be a force by the time we hit conference play. After watching Jordan Fouse knock down some 3s, I can't wait to find out if this is a real part of his skill set now.
Jordan Fouse continues to be a lockdown defender. He completely shut down Jamal Millison, who averaged 17 PPG a year ago.
Also worth noting that the team was 17-20 from the charity stripe. Good start after a down year at the line last year.
