Yes, that is the player I referred to awhile back (not the player from walk-on tryouts). Tyler Sagal of Bay Port HS. That profile you linked was from his junior year when he scored 8 PPG. He grew to 6'4" by his senior year when he scored 16 PPG and was 1st team All Conference in the Fox River Classic. He is the son of Bill and Sue Sagal. Sue (Aspenson) is in the Phoenix Hall of Fame for basketball. Tyler is lean and lanky, and is a terrific shooter. He is also a solid athlete who had a few dunks and was a disruptive defender. An under the radar late bloomer that I was lucky to see play last year. His HS Coach, Nate Rykal, described him as "one of the best shooters we've ever had. His shot is pureand it's just great form, especially his 3 point shot" in a Green Bay Press Gazette article last year. Edit: A Press Gazette article from last year stated Bill was also a Phoenix basketball player, but I believe that was a misprint.

Gavin posted a picture of the team on Twitter. Tyler was standing next to Wardle and they look about the same height. I think I must have been living out in Virginia when dad and mom played for the Nix.

I just found this online and was wondering if anybody impressed? I know there been talk about Tyler Sagal from Bayport. Also saw a article that said it was 10/11 so maybe the date got changed?
GREEN BAY, Wis. (GreenBayPhoenix.com) – Head coach Brian Wardle and the Green Bay men’s basketball program will hold an open tryout for the upcoming season on Thursday, Oct. 2 at 7 p.m. in the Kress Events Center’s Dick Bennett Gym.
All UW-Green Bay students who are enrolled in a minimum of 12-credit hours are invited to try out to be a member of the 2014-15 men’s basketball team.
Prior to the tryout, prospective walk-ons must present the following:
Written documentation of an updated physical completed by a physician in the last six months which states the student is cleared to participate in athletic activities - to the Green Bay Athletics training staff. Incoming Student-Athlete Packet Sickle Cell Form Liability Waiver All prospective athletes must also be registered in the NCAA clearinghouse, and academically eligible to participate in intercollegiate athletics. Once the athletics training staff has signed off on the physical, they will present the prospective student-athlete with the walk-on tracking form. In addition to the proper forms, athletes need to bring gym shorts and tennis shoes for testing. Contact director of basketball operations Rick Karius by phone 920.465.5046 or by e-mail at kariusr@uwgb.edu for more information. The one that said 10/11 had a due date of 9/30 and it went to Asst. Coach Foster?

Ty Sagal is a preferred walk-on, he didn't have to go through the tryouts. They did have one player at tryouts that seriously interested the staff. A four year varsity player from a small northeastern Wisconsin high school. We should find out today if he'll be part of the squad.
