Just thought I'd drop by and throw out this little tid-bit from the bubble watch: Green Bay [19-5 (9-2), RPI: 74, SOS: 187] The Phoenix are having their best season in years, which really kicked off with a home win over Virginia on Dec. 7. They're the class of the Horizon League, and a solid defensive group -- and still might have to win the conference tournament to get close to a tournament bid when all is said and done. The margin for error in the Horizon is just brutally thin.
I really didn't think you guys had much of a shot any more but I guess Brennan thinks it's a long shot possibility. Bubble watch: espn.go.com/mens-college-basketball/story/_/id/10438989/bubble-watch

The unfortunate problem for GB is that the conference is unusually weak this year. The margin for error in at-large is slim.

Thanks Panther33, I too beleive there will only be 1 team going to the dance. Maybe if GB ran the table and lost in Championship game at best they would only have a slim chance. With most of their games on the road this would be very tough. Who ever has home advantage will be the favorite to go to the NCAA, but any one of 8 teams are capable of winning the tournament.

You never want the feeling we had in 2004. Selection Sunday night is the worst.

You never want the feeling we had in 2004. Selection Sunday night is the worst. For bubble teams not making it is worse than playing and losing. You always have next game but when the bubble bursts there's nothing left. Sorry for the pun.

I really don't see GB being on the bubble. I have been of the belief that it is HL Tournament Champion or nothing. They have 3 non d1 wins and 5 losses (at least 6 if we are talking bubble). I don't think that is good enough.

Green Bay got an update today: espn.go.com/mens-college-basketball/bubblewatchGreen Bay [21-5 (11-2), RPI: 63, SOS: 167] The Phoenix own a home win over Virginia, a three-point home loss to Wisconsin and computer numbers that honestly could be worse given how tough things are in the Horizon League this season. The best bet is still to make it academic in the HL tourney, but Green Bay isn't as long a shot as, say, Toledo.

I do like ESPN's quote that we're not as much of a long shot as say Toledo.

You never want the feeling we had in 2004. Selection Sunday night is the worst. We've experienced it. What the committee did to Tony Bennett his senior year was cruel. The team had a stellar resume, but they deemed the Phoenix unworthy because guard John Martinez suffered a season ending injury in their final game. The committee robbed basketball fans everywhere of one more chance to see the greatest 3 point shooter ever one more time on the national stage. You're right in that we don't want to experience that again.

Was watching the Indiana game on Sunday and during the halftime show Seth Davis listed Wisconsin winning at the Resch as a reason why Badgers should be a #1 seed. He also said he is totally on the Pheonix bandwagon!
