I will be heading up today, I expect to be part of a large crowd.
Valpo lost last night, a win here helps open up the standings and also eliminates uwm from winning the regular season title. They would be 5 back with 5 to go and not have a tie breaker with GB.
Venci tweeted that McKinnie has been practicing and may play!!
I think the line is GB by 12 but I will gladly settle for a win by any margin.:-)

Green Bay, Brown Take Blocking To Another Level[/a] Milwaukee (15-9, 5-5) @ Green Bay (19-4, 9-1)When: Saturday, 1:00 Where: The Resch Center, Green Bay TV: Time Warner Cable SportsChannel Green Bay had all 12 players practice on Friday, 1st time in months. theyve been struggling to find enough healthy bodies to go 5 on 5. Time to prove the close game at Milwaukee was an aberration. These 2 programs are in a different stratosphere. The Milwaukee Journal-Sentinal with a piece on Green Bay today. It's clear they realize even the readers in their region would rather read about the Phoenix than the Panthers. Phoenix Stay On Course, Set To Face UWMScott Venci's story on Green Bay's shot-blocking dominance:

At home today sick. Wish I could be there.
The hope this year isn't for a regular season title. We're kind of in end of season mode that the Packers were in this year - success is spoiling it in the tournament. This year wasn't our year, we know it's not our year, in fact everyone knows it's your year. I think you'll still be up near the top of the heap next year, but undoubtedly this is is a better team with Brown.
I'm hoping for for a great game, which it is so far 27-24. It's kind of hard for our spirits to get down this week - we just won the equivalent of of an alumni national title.

I wanted to write this in real time. I thought Aaron flopped on that Brown Flagrant as well. The replay showed obvious contact there. Both Barbar and Kaplan agreed.

GB just crapped the bed.....a 73-63 loss. Any slim chance at an at-large just went down the toilet.
With 4 of the nest 5 on the road and 2 of those games are against Cleveland St. and Valpo, GB can't afford to crap the bed anymore. That CSU game next weekend will be huge.

It was a loss that made things more difficult. Congrats to the Panthers.

It was a loss that made things more difficult. Congrats to the Panthers. It would have been truly remarkable if the Phoenix went 15-1. This conference is better top to bottom than most of the non-major conferences in the country.

Tough stretch ahead. Really hoping that AB can get that shoulder healthy before the tourney. He is giving great effort but obviously isn't able to do everything he'd like and also that we've grown accustomed to seeing from him. I thought Sykes was spot on with saying the team needs to get tougher. I felt Milwaukee just beat us down and didn't let up once, they played very strong against our bigs, multiple calls were questionable however that's usually how it goes when you find yourself on the losing end.

Some disjointed thoughts. The team looks tired. Kiefer is trying to do too much and Brown is not willing or able to mix it up under the basket. A seven foot center should not play 30 minutes and not get one trip to the foul line. Mays is too good to disappear for long periods of time. They need contributions from everyone.

Extremely disappointing loss, I'll leave it at that as far as reaction to the UWM game.
As mentioned above, GB has 4 of their next 5 on the road. Cleveland State conversely has 4 of their next 5 at home. If someone wanted to script an uphill or challenging path to the conference title, this would be about it.
I did not realize it, but our team FT % is now worst in the league and below 70%. That and what seems to be a funk in connecting on 3-point shots, are what puzzles/frustrates me the most.

That last stat by barnzoboy is amazing. I can't recall a season where Green Bay wasn't one of the best FT shooting teams in the conference. Admittedly I don't pay a ton of attention, but GB has always been solid there.
Also cannot help but wonder where the Phoenix would be in connecting on those three-pointers and free throws had Kam Cerroni not been run out of the program.

BTW did anyone else catch that the Resch Center is unavailable for the conference tournament? Does that mean Brown County Arena?

Also cannot help but wonder where the Phoenix would be in connecting on those three-pointers and free throws had Kam Cerroni not been run out of the program. Kam wouldn't make an ounce of difference because he'd never be on the floor. He was a consistent negative in +/_ because he was a major defensive liability and he was turnover prone on offense. A huge reason Green Bay is having a monster season is they no longer have a D3 caliber player getting major minutes. This team is tired and took Milwaukee lightly. They have a chance now to get resting and healthy, and need that to finish strong. Alfonzo McKinnie gave the team a huge boost, hopefully he continue to progress.
