I don't hate Tiby as a player, other than his antics of complaining to the refs all game. I was just saying I don't think he is good at all, playing and skill wise.
Al will get drafted in the 2nd round at least. Could make a career as a bench power forward in the league. The NBA is getting to the point where teams are having two 7 footers on the floor at all times, and one that shoots 40-45% from 3 isn't bad to have coming off the bench.
Agreed the Aaron/Sykes exchange was fun.

The last thing I'll say involving Brown is that he avoided a non-call on an over-the-back foul that led to Sykes tying the game at 82. That was the one spot where I really felt the referees were letting the game get to their heads. It was a real pressure cooker situation in there, and the Cell is not usually at that kind of noise level (95% of our fans suck at being engaged fans, they act like they're watching a performance art piece). I thought it was hilarious watching all those Panther fans beg for a foul that doesn't even exist. Sorry, but there's no such thing as over-the-back. 5th grade refs might call it, but it doesn't exist. Now, you could call a player control foul if the player in back pushes to gain an advantage, but that clearly didn't happen hear. I was surprised Peter Zunezas didn't blow the call, as he is as clueless as any ref I've ever witnessed. Brown didn't foul, he just took advantage of a player who was too lazy to high point the ball. Definitely a turning point, but beating teams on the glass is simply how this team is built.

I actually expect Brown to have a long and successful NBA Career. He's not going to be able to bang in the post, but so much of the NBA is creating space for the superstar players to drive to the rim. Being able to draw the opponents bigs to the 3 point line will make Alec a valuable commodity. He'll get absolutely trashed in the post at first, but he'll still be able to add weight and strength at the next level.

I think you are right on the Money. Will he be a starter probabaly not. Will he be a great 6th or 7th man yes. Like you pointed out he"ll create space because his skills will open up the lane for others. I think it will take him a couple of years before his true value is realized in the NBA but he will be a very rich man by the time he retires if he stays healthy. He can thank Coach Wardle for letting him hone his skills instead of making him play underneath the basket. Coach reconized his true value and pushed him to get better at it. If he would have screamed at him everytime he took a 3 he would have been just another 7 footer who blocks shots and doesn't develop his own shot. Congratulation to the Phoenix Staff for making all the players better and getting rid of the ones that don't buy into the team idea. Look at Sykes, Mays, Fouse, Love and all the others that Mid-Majors passed on and the GB Coaches developed into very good players. Most or all were NR in scouting reports in HS and lightly recruited by D1 schools. Brown was rated a 3*, Fouse was rated 2* and everyone else was not rated NR. I think alot a D1 programs would love to have them now!
