Looking forward to a better start and being able to watch the 2nd half with future starters/reserves. I feel this should be a easier game than Tenn. so I'm hoping to get a good dose of the 2nd team for better evaluation. Also I would love to see McKinnie play to shake off some of the rust and see if he's everything we expected. They have a 2-8 record. Predictied to finish 6th in the MAAC. Tough defense but a team that struggles on Offense. Big game so far this year was against Louisville. www.greenbaypressgazette.com/article/20131220/GPG020101/312200402/Men-s-basketball-McKinnie-finally-make-UWGB-debut

Excited for today's game. Could be a good crowd with the youth giveaway. Fairfield was in the CIT a year ago and returned most of their team. I really surprised they aren't coming in with a quality record.
Great to see Alfonzo is ready to go. Hope he isn't too rusty. Could be a huge addition if he's right.

Excellant game for Brown. 40 points and good numbers on everything else. The one I like the most was 1 TO. Everyone else played well it was just Alec was on fire. He went 14-15 on FT's, 2-2 on 3's. Mckinnie looked a little rusty glad he's got another game before league play. Fairfield shot 3's and was almost 10% better at 3's than 2's otherwise it wouldn't have been close. The games are really getting fun to go to. A Fairfield fan was walking out behind us and all he could talk about was that big guy shooting 3's and FT's, his last words were I wished he played for us. www.greenbaypressgazette.com/article/20131221/GPG020101/312210284/Men-s-basketball-Brown-dominates-UWGB-tops-Fairfield

Awesome game out of AB. My favorite stat, is not the lack of turnovers, but how he was able to stay out of foul trouble completely. Al Mac didn't necessarily look rusty, but just that it was his first game back, brought a nice energy to the team when he was in the game. The thing I brought up to a couple friends was that this was a nice break out for Alec, as it seems when he doesn't have a big game it gets more in his head. Where as Keifer's confidence is so high right now, that this game won't effect him. Also raises the point if it is possible for Alec and Keifer to both have great games within the same game.

I thought the Phoenix came out a little flat, Fairfield was on the glass. As the game went along Fairfield grabbed a lot of boards but with how bad they shot there were plenty if boards to be had.
I was frustrated that Smith hit those 3's. Yes some were deep and one banked in but some guys had their hands down on his shot. Wardle screams hands all game long and after 2 makes guys still weren't doing anything about him. In the second half they did a good job with high hands, denying him clean catches and not helping off him. Fulton and Love took it personal that one guy kept them in the game and set about changing that.
Al looked rusty but I felt like his teammates wanted him to perform so badly that they put him in some bad spots. Certainly can see his athletic ability, now to get in the flow.
The missed Sykes dunk would have been amazing, well executed with Love sealing the lane.
As for Alec what can else can you say, just studly. He was ready to score and looking good right from the tip. A hook over his left shoulder, a variety of spinning post moves, transition hoops, long balls and one dribble pull ups. I would say he is back on the NBA radar, that is 4 good offensive games in a row. He is the one guy that doesn't need Xmas break right now!!
I did see the Findlay first step (twice) that people are talking about. I will be curious to see him grow in his game.
I saw Talmadge was not there, is he leaving or did he just go home early?

Also, does anyone know if this a home and home series?
I thought Fairfield had some young talent. Their fans have an 8 page thread on their fan board about the game. Google Fairfield pro boards to find it.
Lastly, I think the score was closer than the game was. GB took a long time to get over the hump as a team but I felt like they had a comfortable margin most of the game and were on the verge of pulling away several times.
