Tennessee Tech (6-6) @ Green Bay (6-3) Where: The Resch Center (Green Bay) When: Tuesday, December 17th, 7:00 TV: Time Warner Sports Channel (1332)
This game starts a long homestand. Payback time after a disappointing loss at their place last year. It's never too early to start thinking about the NCAA tournament and seeding once we're in, so every game counts. It's possible Tuesday night could be Alfonzo McKinnie's long awaited season debut. Tennessee Tech lost to Milwaukee by 7, and beat former conference rival Loyola by 5. That alone should make this a good measuring stick game.

It's never too early to start thinking about the NCAA tournament and seeding once we're in, so every game counts. Sadly I think that ship has sailed. With losses to UW, Harvard and EMU the are looking at 13-15 seeds in the HL depending on how many conference wins they get. It turned out they had 4 really good teams on the Non Con schedule and they lost to 3 of them. If they lost to only UW in the non con with wins over Harvard and Virginia plus 14-2 in league play then maybe you can see an 11-12 seed. I look no further than the seeds CSU, WSU and UDM received in the tournament recently for guidance about how the seeding process doesn't look favorable unless you have several nice wins as a mid major (and it shouldn't).

I'm not sure the CSU, WSU, and UDM seeds are relative to GBs projected seed if we finish strong. Those team entered the Big Dance with 8,9 , and 12 losses respectively. You mentioned GB with just 2 conference losses, that's just 5 losses overall. GBs resume would then be almost identical to the resume Middle Tennessee St had last year. They had 5 losses, 2 of which were conference losses which were considered bad losses ( losses to teams outside of the RPI top 100). They had just 1 win versus the RPI top 50 (Mississippi), and no other top 100 wins. MTSU was an 11th seed. I'm not looking for an 11, but a 12 would be great. It will be tough, but Wardles teams have always finished strong, and I see no reason why this team wouldn't do the same.

Looking forward to a fun game tonight and winning by 15-20 points. Would love to see T. Botz get a few minutes. After watching the minutes played I'm turned off by Fulton. No point production, he has more TO's and fouls per game than points. I know points aren't everything but he just doesn't seem to be in the flow when I've seen him play and he forces up 3's. To me he looks like a D2 player? Now Lowe on the other hand has had great production for minutes he's played and one of the reasons I'm not as worried about getting a big man for next year. Lowe looked a little out of shape or slow early in the year (maybe just getting used to D1) but has looked slimmer, in control and faster lately. I would love to get a big in 2014 but if we don't get one until 2015 I can live with that. I think with McKinnie, Mays and Lowe next year we're in good shape for 2014. Of course injuries can always change things and on that note I'm also hoping to see Mckinnie tonight? On C Loves shooting I've heard he's turned into a gym rat with Sykes and it shows in production. From what I've heard they spend 3-5 hrs a day together practing on their own. KS is a true leader in every sense of the word. Alec has been good, only getting hurt by phantom fouls and Fouse has been awsume just needs to hit his bunnies down low. Which he has been doing better lately. Good work men keep it up you've been fun to watch. It was hard last week watching box scores on Yahoo because I was in Hawaii. Glued to a computer just seeing running play for 2 1/2 hrs is rotten. I guess that's the price I had to pay lol.

Scott Venci's preview today has a McKinnie update. If someone could post the link that would be great. It also includes a good story on the development of Carrington Love.
It been a real positive change this year having an unbiased beat writer.

Final 76-49. Slow 1st half GB looked like they started out sleep walking. TT was ahead most of the half until GB turned it on with 5 min. left when GB went on a 11-1 run. 2nd half was all GB. Even with KS leaving the game after being knocked down hard going to the basket. He came back from the locker room with a patch over his eye and did play a few minutes when we were up by 31. At one time in the 2nd half Scott Venci tweeted GB on 30-3 run. Played the last 5-6 min. with all subs. Slow start for the Phoenix but great finish. Another great post game article by Scott Venci in Wednesday's paper. www.greenbaypressgazette.com/article/20131217/GPG020101/312170449/Men-s-basketball-UWGB-overcomes-slow-start-rout-Tennessee-Tech

The run ended up being a 38-3 run. GB blocked so many shots that TT ended up with the yips and couldn't make a layup by the end.
It's fun seeing this team just completely overwhelm a team they lost to last year. It shows how far they've come.
It's also fun getting a look at the end of the bench guys. Tevin Findlay is starting to buy into the energy level this program expects. The kid has a seriously quick 1st step, and can really pass too. Now that he's buying into the system, I'm pretty excited about his future.

Good win for the team. Great to have your starters only have to play half the game. With that said I they need to clean it up, against a more talented team it could have been ugly. TT still had over 20 offensive boards and GB had 16 turnovers. I'm still confused what they see in Lamin Fulton, he looks extremely out of place when he is on the floor. Alec Brown really set the tone for the team, pulling the other teams big man out by hitting three's and also altering many shots. Vince Garrett also had a good game. He has so much athletic ability hopefully he can carve out a defined role to become more of a consistent player.

A nice home win for the Phoenix. What a run to put the game away pretty early. I agree the rebounding and tracking down the loose balls was the only negative in this game.
After being hard on Fulton in the past I won't back down on that but I did notice that he did move the ball farily well which I believe J pointed out. I know Sultan took a while to come up to speed last year, maybe Fulton will be the same.
It was good to see Vince get going again. He is the kind of player that can really ride a roll, hopefully this is the start of a big run for him.

Also, it was positive to see that McKinnie was in uniform and dunking before the game. I would guess we will see him on one of the next two Saturdays!

Yes we noticed he was in uniform and did the pregame warm ups I'm hoping this is a sign that he's close to playing a game. I'm not a fan of Fulton's but he also looks like he's trying to hard? I wanted him off the court when he double dribbled or was it over and back at midcourt because nobody was pressuring him. He also seemed lost when it came to rebounding. We noticied that Vince was keeping his head up on drives instead of lowering it. In the past he got charging fouls, double teamed or he would turn it over. It showed he could see what was going on around him and he was a better player for it. Tevin was impressive with his speed when he came in at the end. He looks like he could be a player when he gets a outside shot. Maybe another C. Love jump next year in the making? It depends on how much time he's willing to spend in the gym.
