I think GB was still a NAIA program when Eastern Michigan came to the old Brown County Veteran's Memorial Arena. It was a big deal having a D1 team come to town -- perhaps the first one to play the Phoenix. (70-71 season?) Dave Buss had a good team and the Nix were doing well when a incredibly skinny freshman came off the bench for Jim Ducher's Eastern Michigan team. The kid just took over hitting every shot he took from all over the place. I swear one shot he made was from the concession stand under the bleachers while he was eating a hotdog. This is the guy and he may still be the best college player the Nix ever faced. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/George_Gervin Attachments:
