I was scrolling through Twitter tonight and found this exchange between Chris Roth and everyones favorite ex-writer. What does he mean by "his best guy was out"?
Chris Roth @rothchris so much for stacking success, @gbphoenixmbb loses at EMU 67-58. 18 turnovers for Phoenix
Rob Demovsky @robdemovsky
Follow
@rothchris People killed Tod K. for losing to Oakland after beating UW & his best guy was out. Wardle should get it the same or worse.

Wardle should get it the same or worse. When Tod's team beat Wisconsin, Rahmon Fletcher sprained his knee late in the game, and he missed the next game. What Rob fails to realize is Tod was criticized not because his team lost to Oakland, but because they were hammered by 24. What Rob also doesn't know is this team has played the whole year without a player as good as Fletcher in McKinnie. Rob claims he hasn't followed the team this year, yet he continues to comment on them. Commenting on things you're uninformed about is ignorance.

I'm beginning to have legitimate animosity towards Rob. And I agree, McKinnie being there all year is just as much of an impact as Fletch not playing.

Don't go away mad Rob, just go away.....
As far as the game was concerned, when your opponent makes more FT's than you attempt, you usually win. It also shows that we wern't aggressive enough as a team ofensively to try to go to the basket (other than Sykes). We either need a zone-busting shooter, or another wing player who will go to the basket, and Fulton is not the answer right now.
EMU's only losses were to Kentucky, UMass, and Purdue. Not bad losses IMO.....They may surprise in the MAC this year. When you have a coach (Rob Murphy) who is well-versed in the Syracuse 2-3 zone, and have the length/height ideal for that system, be prepared for an experience like getting all of your wisdom teeth pulled....;-)
Hope GB gets their act togteher against South Dakota. They nearly upset K-State in Manhattan last night......

A classic road let down game for the Nix. The zone was a killer and GB lacked movement on offense that would have found the seams in the zone. I hope it was a learning experience. Fulton seems to still be finding his game. On paper he should be the kind of player who would have an impact. A healthy McKinnie would bring this team to another level. School continues for Wardle and the players.
Bottom line -- you hate to lose but this was not a total blow out and Eastern Michigan is a good team, plays killer zone and has great length to do it with.

GB looked like a team that hadn't faced a quality 2-3 yet, and hadn't had much practice time to prepare for it. The Nix were consisyently late with there passes, they seemed to be thinking more than reacting in the 1st 30 minutes. There defense was keeping them in the game, but they fouled too much to give themselves a chance to win. Alec Brown continues to be a victim of the phantom foul, yet opponents are allowed to carelessly rake him accross the arms whenever he has the ball. I think its past time coach Wardle gets T'd up to protect his big man. I appriciate Brian's effort to teach poise under pressure, but it's reached its breaking point. I agree that EMU plays an impressive zone. They recruit players to fit heir system. Raven Lee was a top 100 recruit with a host of high major offers until off the court incidents popped up. Green Bay was one of the 1st to offer Karrington Ward, who then went through the same things as Lee. Both are extremely impressive players. EMU is a top 100 RPI team, and should easily win their division in the MAC.

EMU listed the attendance for last night's game at 583. Yikes

I watched the video stream of the game. 500 may have been an inflated number.
