That sucks, I am glad I didn't plan to go to these games.
It would seem simple enough that these teams play these games in some combination of home/away. They all have a void on the calendar, they all had money in the budget to travel to a tournament and they all have access to facilities to play in. I would love to see a late add to the GB home schedule and have their two games played at the Kress. In my opinion not playing is a shortcut instead of working to get this done quickly.

From what I understand these tournaments typically pay for the travel costs of the participating teams. If that was the case for this tournament none of the teams had the travel costs in their budgets. Short turnaround time on making arrangements for flights would make it expensive. Also no guarantee there would be enough seats available on commercial flights. The tournament organizers really put these teams in a bind.

Besides losing 2 games I was unhappy with the thought of GB losing dollars. So the game on 11/9 might even gain the program some dollars? Best would have been playing two D1 teams to tune the program. But you're right on such short notice just getting a game is a plus. Just wish it had been a D1 team.

What's done is done but I did want to point out what the other hbcu teams did. Norfolk State is going to play at Texas Southern. Texas Southern is also playing a non d1 at home.
Arkansas Pine Bluff is going to Atlanta to play two of the hbcu D2 teams.
It should roughly cost $35,000 to travel to or from gb for a game. I am disappointed that they couldn't pull something together for that kind of money with any of those 3 teams instead of NMU. Especially since two of the teams ended up traveling anyway.
