I went to the Phoenix kick off yesterday. Disappointed in the age of crowd, (excluding players and coaches) 15% under 12, 5% 13-30, 10% 30-45, 20% 45-60 and 50% over 60. I'm 63 and felt over half the crowd was older than me? The Players and Coach"s were great but we need more youth. We have a young Coach and great Players but very little community support. I know it's Packer season but people have to realize there's other sports!
Lmao it's probably the 1st event I've gone to that the Mayor didn't show up! Usually if there's a voter he's at it. That part was accually nice. The only politician I saw was Senator Hansen who is a season ticket holder that I see at many games. He also keep to a small group and wasn't out campaining.

Who's number 11? White kid, in the six foot range. I've seen pictures in practice and at the event yesterday. Is that the young man from Alaska?

Based on a picture on the GB Phoenix facebook team page of an autographed ball, it looks pretty clear that #11 is Talmadge. Until I see something from the official website don't quote me on that.
I didn't go yesterday because it looked like the event was more family oriented and I don't have kids yet. I probably would have gone if the event had the team playing a scrimmage or something like that. In general GB has an older fan base. I think this teams style of play will hopefully win over the younger fans and growing alumni base.
I will say that based on video and photos I thought they did a good job of using the players to make fans feel welcome. They also did a good job of promoting this event on social media.

They announced the Green and White scrimmage is next Saturday and open to the public at the Kress. I wasn't knocking the older base, I was just disappointed there was not more High School BB players who showed up. It would have been a great time to see the local program up close and talk with D1 players on a one on one basis..

My pops picked up tickets to the Madison and Virginia games today! Planning on coming home for them. Can't wait.
