I would pay American money to hear Dick Bennett's thoughts on the talent the GB squad has this season. Can you imagine what he could do with this team? He took a less talented Wisconsin team to the Final Four.

I would think the best starting lineup includes McKinnie and then Mays off the bench. McKinnie looks to have a better overall offensive game to take pressure off Brown. I like Mays as an energy player who can sub in for either starting big guy and still have the team produce against the opponent's second line. If Mays starts they must be really confident in Alec to beat the defense on his own which should allow McKinnie to destroy 2nd lines of other teams.
As for Josh we know Fouse is a starter. I see Garrett and Josh going for the same role as the starting 2 guard or g/f resererve. More offense, experience and athletic ability from Vince but maybe not the defense that Josh has played. I would lean towards a healthy Vince earning those minutes right now.

Wardle mentions in the above linked story the 3 point shooting prowess McKinnie has developed. In one of the games in the Bahammas, they started Fouse and McKinnie on the wings, with Mays and Lowe as the posts. We could see that perimeter group again. The 1-3-1 zone that group could play would kill. Fouse isn't a strong shooter, but he handles the ball and passes better than many of the SGs the Nix have had recently. Also, Vince Garret spent some of his time in the Bahammas playing the post. His strength is an asset down low. I could see Garret rotating with Mays and Brown in the post, and one of the combo guards (Love, Fulton, Findlay) rotating on the wings with McKinnie and Fouse. McKinnie is an absolute stud, there's no way he doesn't start, in my opinion.

If they can score with that lineup I wouldn't be against it. I worry about getting Fouse too far out of his comfort zone. He was great around the rim and had a ton of baskets just by being on the glass. Plus that brings in a second non shooter to the starting five.
Sykes Love/Fulton/Botz (not sure who starts but they should all be able to play outside) Fouse McKinnie Brown I see the lineup listed above having better balance and an easier time scoring than say the lineup listed below: Sykes Fouse McKinnie Mays/Garrett Brown
Either way I think we all agree that McKinnie is going to be good. I think he is an all newcomer type player. Plus I think we all agree this team has good depth and lots of options on who can play together. Luckily I just get to sit back and enjoy it without having to acutally make the tough calls that Wardle has to with this group.

With all of the talent they have this year I anticipate players outside of Brown and Sykes getting playing time based on matchups and how they are currently playing. Wardle needs to win this year and will run with whoever is hot at the time. Kind of like what he did last year with a couple of players but on a larger scale as the players overall this year are better.
