As we think about the roster and potential lineups I find it interesting and helpful that the GB website lists Turner Botz as a guard. I would think that is a gauge of what the coaches think.
He seems like a hard worker and self made player who might not get the attention like Garrett or Lowe because of their highlight reel potential.

Don't take these comments as me wanting the summer to hurry up because I don't! It is just that I can't wait to watch some Phoenix basketball. So with the recent media blitz from the practice I read every article and watched every tv station video. I can't believe that I have allowed myself to get excited over 6 to 8 short video clips.
I did see Sykes knock down two sweet looking 3's, one on a high screen and the other on a baseline inbounds play. If he keeps his jumper going that will make him impossible to stop in the HL. I did see them playing a high pick and pop game with Alec, I think that suits him well. Plus it is good to read that he is up to 235 lbs, hopefully he can get a few more on by November. If he can get his rebounding back and his shot blocking started from the beginning of the season the NBA will take notice. I did see Al working the baseline for a very comfortable mid range jumper that dropped right in. In that move he looked like an even bigger weapon than I thought he would be. I thought I saw Josh playing and take a long jumper from the corner, it may have been Fouse. If it was Josh the form looked better even if the result was the same as his freshman year. He and Garrett are wild cards on this team. I did see C Love leading a break for an easy deuce. I have been told by those who follow him on twitter that he is working hard on his game, I would love to see and kind of expect him to make a bigger impact in year 2. Mostly I loved the tempo they played at. They were getting the ball out of the hoop quickly and up the court. They were working to get good shots early. I know a lot of old school fans won't like this because it isn't Bennett ball and the first early bad shot that goes up will get groans from the stands but for me I love this based on the players they have. I like the idea of them defending for 35 seconds, then getting up the court in a hurry to score. That style should fit their roster well and would be an easy way to play 10 guys when they have a roster that is deep and full of players of the same style. I actually see an identity for Phoenix hoops that has been lost for some time.
