He missed the biggest shot in GBs season. His missed 3 from the corner gave the Phoenix the win over Marquette. Thomas was good at South Dakota as a frosh, but hasn't shot well since.
Another option could be Michael Orris. The HS teammate of Greg Mays is transferring out of K-state. GB pursued him in the past. However, adding a transfer that needed to sit out the year might be difficult with DT already out next year.

This may make me seem really inconsistent because like many I think this team needs more SG help but I think Thomas is further down my list. If there are no other HS kids or longer term D1 transfers then Thomas is a good 1 year rental. Giving a scholarship to Thomas is putting all of your eggs in the 2013-14 basket. Any opinions on how much better is he than Cole or Sultan?
I don't know Michael Orris's game but he fills the description of the type of transfer I think GB should go after. I like the idea of a high major transfer that has 3 years left to play. Sure a player like that doesn't help next year but he might be a better program builder long term.

Didn't see this thread, and posted in the other. It would be an interesting addition. He would have to find his shot again. He's a better version of Kam Cerroini (good enough to stay D1). But I'm friends with a guy who played high school ball with Thomas, and he said Jake considered transferring to GB for this past season, but Wardle wasn't interested. Take that for what it's worth, not sure how much has changed in a year.

With Vander Blue going pro, Jake Thomas is staying at Marquette per their message board.
