I'm starting a thread to track Green Bay's post-season chances. I like our odds. Here's Rob Demovsky's story on that subject today: Jack Bennett says Phoenix worthy of postseasonAlso keep in mind that the CIT only invits mid-majors, and not all high-majors accept CBI invites. Iowa doesn't, and they're on the NIT bubble right now. Pitt accepted a CBI invite last year and won it. The CIT focusses on record, not RPI. There are a few top 150 RPI teams, like Fresno St (RPI 123, 11-18), that have very poor records and won't get postseason invites. There is also a few teams that are postseason worthy, but are banned from postseason do to academics, including UConn and Central Florida.

Jack has always been a friend and strong proponent of GB. You can be sure when he says he'll recommend GB he means it. Jacks is as straight a shooter as they come. I'm feeling better and better about GB's prospects.

YSU has accepted an invittation to play in the Collegeinsider.com Tournament. A reason I believe they were accepted is due to the fact they will host a game. GB finished ahead of them so it will be interesting to see if they get an invite to play a road game.

So far YSU, Bradley, and Rider have accepted bids for home games. I don't see GB paying for a home game so we'll probably have to wait while the tournament locks up the host schools first.

According to the UIC board it's official they are hosting a CIT game. Given a choice I would rather see the CBI. The championship is a best of 3.

Rob Demovsky has tweeted the Phoenix will be a road team in the CIT. Well deserved invitation. Win it all!

I like the match-up. We play a team we recruit against. They struggle shooting the 3, which should make our zone extremely effective. Bradley bought their way into this tournament, with a RPI of just 191 they wouldn't have gotten an invite based on merit. Still a solid, competitive team from a strong conference.
Does the CIT have any kind of TV deal, or do they provide streaming of the games?

I think you can see the games via webstream.....As far as TV, I didn't see anything on the CIT website, but it looks like they are affiliated with the CBS Sports Network somehow....

Is this game at Bradley? Are any of you going? I'd go if you stopped to pick me up on your way down (my house is literally four blocks off the freeway in West Allis).

Like most CIT and CBI games where an unworthy team with $$$ buys their way in, the sugar daddy will likely get mowed down in the first round.

The game is at the Bradley version of the Kress Center. I would guess a small crowd can really make some noise in that building.
This big game is big on a lot of levels. One, I would love to see GB win a tournament like this. Yes, it is a made up tournament but just the feeling of winning is something to build on. Two, I would hate to lose to 3 of the bottom 4 MVC teams in one year. It would just solidify how much better their league is than the HL and how much work GB has to do yet.

The team that I've been hoping to see all year showed up at the two games at Valpo. This was an exciting, hard fighting team with a belly full of fire. They clearly wanted to win. No doubt, and I liked that they showed some emotion. Post season play will be good for this team that has the potential to be a contender next year. Good luck to all of the players and coaches.

Bradley fan here...just an open invitation to anyone here that wants to visit Bradleys #1 site for all things BU related. Just go to www.pjstarforums.com to learn about BU and to discuss the upcoming game. I can assure you you'll be welcomed as long as the discussion is civil If anyone is going to game we will be glad to help out with any questions you might have. There is another fan site you can visit that CLAIMS to be BU fans but its pretty dead and very negative with a lot of trash talking, poor moderation and poorly run. As far as the game....it will be played at our on-campus site that holds 4500. Its primarily the Womens home court for hoops and VB. Just opened last year and will be used instead of our Mens usual location downtown at the 11,400 seat Peoria Civic Center. We are in year 2 of a major rebuild. Went from 7-25 to 16-16 this year with mostly returning players from previous regime. Strengths are guard play...ultra quick jr. Walt Lemon and Defensive ace Dyricus Simms-Edwards lead the team. Weaknesses are shooting, rebounding and short bench. Started the year strong but many believe the short bench had us worn out at years end. Gave NCAA bound WSU and B10's UM all they could handle at home. Had some heart breaking meltdowns where we snatched a loss from the jaws of victory that could have easily put us at 18-14 but overall...16-16 was about who we are. Much better then most had predicted. Play in a tough top to bottom MVC. Looking forward to teh game....sounds like YOUR strengths are our weknesses... but I guess thats why they play the games. I could see us as a SLIGHT fav because we are home but a push wouldn't surprise me. Again...please stop by www.pjstarforums.com if you wish.
