If anyone is heading down for the game and needs tickets, private message me. I have 3 available at will call for free.
Tall task in front of GB today. Gonna need to play their best ball of the year. Alec and Keifer need to shine.

I just hope they play with a little more fight and toughness than they did last time they met.
They need someone to step up and hit some outside shots. Otherwise, I think we're looking at another blowout.

Hopefully they learned from last week. After an emotional win yesterday I will be curious to see how GB comes out on a short turn around. In my opinion the roles are reversed from last week. Valpo has all the pressure and GB has none. At home as the higher seed everyone should expect a Valpo win. With no expectations maybe GB can come out free and loose and catch Valpo off guard. Last week I purchased semi final tickets hoping GB would get there. I am leaving this afternoon, I will be in row e behind the GB bench. It feels like money well spent

Great game, lost tonight like we won last night. TOUGH loss! The men played their hearts out and never let up. Hold your heads up and hopefully we'll get a call.

That hurt. Soooooo close. Good defense by Cougill on the shot, just a great shot.
Pretty good season overall even though there were some rough spots. If these guys work hard in the offseason, they've got the talent to be special next year. Tough to lose an opportunity like this, but Valpo is just a darn tough team.

Fantastic game. Dumb turnovers early but a fantastic second half, and Brown and Sykes were just sensational. Valpo needed some really clutch threes, and a circus three at the buzzer, to win at home.
I thought the Phoenix looked like the better team most of the night, but Valpo with five seniors just knows how to win.
Congratulations to GB.

GB played well enough to win. Alec could have made his second FT before Broekhoff's circus shot and could have sent it to OT, but nonetheless this was the GB team we were were looking for the past few weeks.
I know it's a would-have-could-have situation, but if GB closed the deal against WSU at home in 2OT a few weeks back and the road game at UIC, and Broekoff's shot didn't go in, with everything else being equal, GB might have hosted the HL Championship on Tuesday.
With the run GB had in the HL tourney, they now know how good they can be when they are focused on AND off the court, and how close they were for playing for the HL Championship. This also goes for BW and the coaching staff; they have made some game management blunders as well.
Hope this helps GB's cause in getting a CBI or CIT bid......They need the extra practice as they go into the off-season.

Broehkoff is a cold blooded assassin. I tip my cap, and can't wait ravage the carcass that left in Valpo next year after they lose six seniors from their rotation.
Near great performance today, I'm actually excited to see this team play in the CBI or CIT, they seem on the verge of something.
This is why we watch college basketball. Go Phoenix!

Man that was the absolute toughest way to lose. Brown really short armed that free throw, but the way Valpo closed the game they deserved the win.
If Sykes played like that all the time, he would be the POTY in the Conference. He's just simply unstoppable when he make jump shots. I can't wait until he gets to the point where he just takes over every game next year. Brown also looked unstoppable at times. The way Cougill played in the 2nd half makes me take back all the negative things I've said about him.
While it's a terrible way to lose, hopefully this propels GB into working even harder in the offseason. Fouse needs to develop a jump shot. Many times in the game his defender just camped in the lane and helped on all the drives. It was also nice to see confidence and important playing time from Cole Stephan.
Typically, I will always root for the winner of the Horizon in the tourney (I even cheered for UW-sluM in the early 2000s). However, the way Bryce Drew threw himself on the floor after the made shot is the most amateurish thing I have seen from a coach in a long time. I also didn't care for the trash talk from Van Wuyk directed towards Brown, and The Human Rat Broekhoff's little salute to the GB bench. I would expect a little more professionalism from a "Lutheran" institution. Go Wright State.

I just wish we had shot our usual FT % in the last 2 games. That said I think it had more to do with being tired than anything else. I've always beleived you live and die by FT's in a close game. But I beleive we'll also get another chance this spring to watch the Phoenix. So get the legs back and we'll be waiting for the call to the CBI or CIT.

Well that was a wild 24 hours. Win on a late 3 and then lose on a late 3. This one hurts because they made so many plays in the second half to put the game away and Valpo just made two stone cold 3's late to win.
Bryce Drew looked like a fool rolling around on the floor. This wasn't the 90's against ole miss.
It was a great atmosphere for college hoops. A smallish number of people in that crackerjack box of gym gets really loud. It felt like the game had a buzz from start to finish. It made the way GB played that much more impressive to be in a hostile environment.
I am hopeful for a CBI or CIT bid.
I was at the game so I haven't watched the replay. It felt like 55 can foul at will and 45 can travel at will and no calls will be made. Bill Jacobson is nearing Steve Skiles on my list of least favorite officials.

In my brief time as a GB fan, that was easily the toughest loss I've experienced. Up 4 with just 13 seconds left in the game for a trip to the Championship game and possibly the NCAA tournament. Just a really, really brutal way to lose a game. The guys fought and played their hearts out in a tough environment against a very good team. Keifer was amazing. I'm really hoping for a CBI invite so we can keep this season going
