Green Bay (14-12, 8-5)) @ Youngstown St (15-11, 7-6) Sunday, 1:00 Media: ESPN3
Huge game today for the Phoenix. Solid opponent on the road, and it sounds like Cole Stefan will be a game time decision becuase of his eye injury.
The Nix need a victory as the fight for conference tourney seeding. Getting a 2 or 3 seed is ultra important to give this team a chance to win it, and to have a chance to host the championship game.

They need this road win for a lot of reasons. They need to keep momentum up. They need to stay close to Detroit and WSU and they need to keep YSU from catching them from behind.
I hope Cole can play today. Only haveing 3 other guards on the roster against a team with good guard play worries me.
No blow outs and no room for come behind wins. GB needs to play its defense and rebounding style from the tip and get a big W.

Nix grow a 1st half lead of 8 late with an odd lineup. With Cole Stefan out with an eye injury, the Nix go big with Brown, Arenz, Mays, Fouse, and Muhammad. It works, and GB is 20 minutes from a huge road win.

GB wins by 17 on the road. Now having won 4 out of their last 5 on the road. A big turn around from the beginning of the season. All the announcers could say is no one wants to play GB. Sykes 19 2nd half points and again a great effort by everyone while short handed. Just saw the box score. Congrats to Jordan for another double-double. Your hard work is appreciated. Also great FT shooting on the road GB.

Green Bay doesn't just win the game, they make a statement. Huge win. Believe it or not, they still have a decent chance to share the conference title.

Muhammad was more effective than Love today. Fouse with a quiet double-double. Beat Milwaukee and Valpo to close out the regular season and after that anything can happen.

GB needed this one.....and it was against a team they have struggled with on the road.
Has BW finally found a lineup he can go to?? It looked like he went with a big lineup and had Fouse as a 2-guard? If Mays and Arenz were in at the same time, did Brown play the 3.....I like the idea of a 7'1" point forward......Jack Sikma anyone?? ;-)

Right now I think this might have been the second best win of the year right behind the Marquette win. Down to 8 guys and to have both point guards on the bench with foul trouble in the first half yet still lead by 8 was impressive. I have been quick to gently point a finger at Coach Wardle but the way they played on Sunday shows me the guys that he has left believe in him and themselves. It felt like they could have picked any 5 guys regardless of position and play well because they were ready to go.
The defensive fg% and 3pt fg% were in check, the boards were cleaned up, the block party was started, the ft% was high and they made more ft's than YSU attempted. All the things Coach works on they did. Just a good team win.
I am pretty sure you can mark Keifer Sykes down for HL player of the week. Two road games, two wins and two 20+ games. The color guy for the YSU game had Averkamp and Perry on his 1st team. No respect for Keifer, who in my home team opinion is the second best player in the league.

This win pretty much ensures that Green Bay will play in some sort of post season tournament. Assuming Green Bay beats Milwaukee, an extremely safe assumption, the Phoenix will finish with a winning record and a top 150 RPI.
It's nice to have that as a floor, but I'm greedy. I want to dance. The team is peaking at the right time to make a run. Sagrin now has GB favored in its final 3 games.
