From Rob:
Per Brian Wardle, Kam Cerroni has left the @gbphoenixmbb program. Sounds like it was his choice. Will have more soon. And by his choice, I mean Cerroni's choice. Thought this was a possibility after the season given his reduced role.

Surprising and disappointing -- with one year left D2 or D3 would allow him to play immediately next season. At that level he would be unstoppable -- Good luck and thanks....

“It’s not something I wanted; we just had differences, and we couldn’t resolve them,” Cerroni told the Press-Gazette. “It wasn’t anything playing-time related. It had nothing to do with playing time.”
The team GPA just took a major hit.

Quitting on your teammates in the middle of the season? I'm not impressed.

He did a lot more than contribute to the team GPA. I don't know about his grades but he was a good shooter - certainly a well practiced and hard working shooter and player. Not a particularly gifted athlete, but a guy who knew how to work hard. I'm surprised though - he seemed to be a team player and there is nothing less team - centered than quitting during the season. Especially with about a month remaining. For sure more to the story, more then we will ever know. He sure doesn't seem like a jerk but this us a real jerk move. Maybe the jerk or jerks are the adults in this whole soap opera. Too bad. I feel bad for the team and for Ceroni. The coaches and adults involved will deflect all of this as immature behavior. The players, may be immature, but do t deserve the mental hit that they will take from this.

I really don't know what to think of this. I hope him the best even though at this time in the season it's a very unusual move. I'm not even sure who he had the differences with? Hopefully the TEAM pulls together and uses it as a motivation to finish the season strong. Sorry to see you go Kam I hope you're happy were ever you end up?

As someone who used to go to GB, and got to know him some, it really does seem out of character of him, a little disappointed but wish him the best.

"I guess BW will be looking for a combo guard in the off-season to go with the Little Chute 2 (Lowe and Botz) recruiting class coming in."
I think they are full for next year:
Alex Brown Sultan Muhammad Daniel Turner Keifer Sykes Greg Mays Josh Humprhrey Nick Arenz Jordan Fouse Carrington love Alfonzo McKinnie Cole Stefan Turner Botz Kenneth Lowe

I was under the impression that Cole Stefan's scholarship was only for one year since he was going to walk on but GB had an extra scholarship this year from not landing Milton Doyle. Maybe they will go ahead and just give him a full ride for the next 2 years now.
As for Cerroni it's hard to see him go. He was a fan favorite, hard worker, and great shooter. The timing is what confuses me. There's likely only 6-7 games left in the season and he's coming off a game where he played significant minutes and played well. I wish him well wherever he ends up, unless he ends up at UWM.
Hopefully the team can maintain focus on this crucial road trip. They've had to endure injuries, suspensions, and now a player quitting this season

Now one of our favorites are gone, just when the Cole/Kam duo seemed to be working in certain instances. I had been looking forward to this duo being used more. Especially at the end of games when they both were nearly perfect in FT shooting. I know role playing is hard to take but the higher the level the more often it's used! My predicition is he'll go D2 or D3 so he can continue playing next year. I'm sure he'll have a great season and I'll be watching him. I'm personnely hoping he ends up someplace close by so I can continue to see him play? St. Norberts maybe?

Although the PG article said he could stay at GB as a student.

Being close to home may appeal to him also.
